I have been contacted by email early this week for a hen party this coming saturday.

I emailed her back with a price list and she has advised that she has 10 people attending her party and they each want two treatments. I told her I would have to get another therapist on board if there were 20 treatments to complete could she let me have their choices by Friday and a 50% deposit by Saturday (yesterday) as it books up my whole saturday.

She emailed me back to say could each person bank transfer their money to me individually?? :grr: erm no! I said I wasnt prepared to get involved in that part of it, if she could let me have the list and the deposit that would be fine but I also wasnt prepared to take a cheque due to people bouncing/cancelling etc as i would want the money to clear before the saturday which is unlikely.

I feel horrible but I have a very bad feeling about it, I think they have left it too late to plan properly and 20 (mini) treatments at 20 mins each is 7 hours non stop, which is going to be exhausting

Can anyone offer some realistic way of dealing with this as I dont think this woman is being realistic on her timings and that there is only me! should I just walk away and say I already now have bookings in place or should I just ask they have one treatment so Im not dead at the end of the day?

thanks
xx

You would find 7 hours work exhausting? Even if you added in a few *** breaks to make it 8 hours, thats still a normal days work surely? (a short day for me)

Yes I would, I already have bookings in the morning as the party doesnt start til 3pm, sorry I should have been clearer.

Makes more sense now!!!! Personally I would do it as a long old day.( I have the stamina of a pit pony), and have the next day off.You can hammer through the treatments as they are all there and waiting, and it would prob be quite a laugh.Good money too.

Same here. I always book myself stupid and then just rest later. Yesterday I did a full day 9-5 in the salon and then had a make up booked for half 5 as well as an eyelash tint and a manicure at someones house so i worked 9-7:30 then had to drive home from their.

I took a 10 min break the entire day to eat something quick and i ate a breakfast bar whilst driving to my mobile job on the night time.

Best advice i can give you is take as much work as you possibly can if it's your business and you'll reep the rewards later and think of the money.

Also with pamper parties and time being restricted the best thing to do is email the host the choice of treatments that are available that way you make as much money as possible without doing hours on end treatments and missing potential new clients out is to do half an hour treatments or less. You can also offer packages such as buy 2 treatments and get your 3rd one free (the third one is to be redeemed in the beauty room) That offer gets new clients and also makes them come to your beauty room and continue to do so.

See the opportunity as a way to get new clients and also make alot of money quickly

Hi ya
I did a hen party for 8 people back in December,,,I started at 7 in the evening at the girls house and finished at 12 and a full day at home as well as I have a salon at home,,,,It was hard work,,,, Everyone wanted their nails doing and everyone had one treatment I gave the host a list that I did of the treatments I was offering the times and the prices. I did things like a 30 minute manicure. If there is 10 people and they want 2 treatments each see what treatments they want and if you can break it down. Like if they want a facial and nails then they must know that because of time they wouldn't be getting a full one hour facial and a 45 minute manicure offer them a mini facial say 25 minutes and a shape and polish on the hands it beaks the time down and each gets a pampering. If everyone wants 2 treatments could you offer them two 15 minute treatments?????????
As for the deposit could you have charged everyone say £5.00 deposit and say that it will come off their treatment and charge them all on the night,,, and explain that unforunately what with bank charges and with cheques bouncing you only except cash. I wrote a letter to the host explaining everything alomg with the list of treatments and prices. I know you said about people transfering it into your bank and writing cheques they may have been thinking about posting it to you as you can't post cash so how would they pay you????? Maybe talk to the host and just say that if everyone could pay £5.00 deposit and you'll collect it from the host on xxxday or if you can take it to you!
Hope it makes sense

I did a hen party which included food there were 8 girls, I decorated salon for them they all had a small buffet file & polish, massage (20 mins) mini facial (20 mins) they loved it there were 3 of us doing it. I hadn't long opened and all of the girls have become regular clients. after wards they all came for enhancements and spray tans too (at full price) that was nearly a year ago now. Each paid £20 deposit and the total cost for the treatment was £60 each that included food

I'd be damned if I was gonna turn down a big money job like that! Yes you'll be pooped by the end of it but as long as you plan on taking it easy the next day you'll be fine :)

There's sooo many of us on here bemoaning the lack of clients & you're complaining about having a potential MASSIVE, lucrative job. Hmm...
