I am doing my warm waxing course shortly and have finally decided on purchasing a Hive wax heater, but just not sure which one.

If I get the 1000 cc one, can I put the wax pots directly into the heater or do I just pour the wax into the container. I will be mobile so would prefer to heat the wax pot/tins up in the heater as it will be easier. Am also thinking of using Perron Rigot wax but these tins are bigger than standard. Do they fit into these heaters?

If I get the 500cc one, am I right in saying that you can put standard wax pots in but you can't use hot wax (unless you purchase the extra inner container). Also, if I did want to use the PR wax, I would have to pour it in, right????

I am confused

Do both heaters have a drip bar?

Any advise would be great.

Hiya. I have recently bought the 1000cc one and it has a drip bar. I thought I could put the pots straight in, but you can't so have to heat the wax and pour it in. I think i am am going to by spare containers for other types of waxes, then i can interchange them when required.

Hi i use a 500cc hive for hot wax and use perron rigot euro blonde, i tip this straight into the wells that you get. For strip wax i use a 1000cc hive heater and use perron rigot cristal ocean, the pot that it comes in fits into the 1000cc heater you dont need to pour. I am mobile too and its good because you just put the wax top on and then the top of the wax pot and then it doesnt spill. The 1000cc heats up quickly too. I use a metal spatula so dont really use the scrap bars only with the hot wax and the 500cc heater. Hope that helps. It took me ages to get all this right :)

Hi

Thanks for your replies, I have decided to go for the 500cc Hive heater.

Can't wait to get waxing now!

I'm confused! Hive Heaters have a metal bucket that you can remove, but you wouldn't be able to put this in the microwave (as it's metal).

The 1000cc does take Perron Rigot tins.......you just remove the Hive bucket and place the tin inside.

Perron Rigot strip waxes come in a roller system too, so as a mobile you may prefert those. xxx

I have 2 of the 1000cc heaters and also use PR they are the right size for the PR tins so no need to use the bucket I also bought a few empty tins from PR to decant my hard wax into this is great so no mess or cleaning the bucket out.
