:o Hi Geeks

I am about to add 'Hollywood toes' to my list of services - as I have done them with great results on Friends/family/me! BUT a few questions have popped up in my over thinking head....

My Friends/family have all been very nice and showered the little piggys (thats what we call toes lol) before the appointment BUT how do you guys work it on unfamiliar clients? what if they whip off the socks and the feet are dirty/stinking for example (I`m not a foot person can you tell?) Do we wear gloves??!! Do you guys pedicure/soak feet first?? I am not trained in pedicure by the way. Or just sanitize and prep nail as normal?(thats what I have done up till now)do you find that if clients have booked in for such a service they will have thought about the cleanliness issue....but what if they have come straight from work eek!!

As for removal if required (I haven't done this yet) would it be the old cotton wool ball over the nail technique??

I`m sorry for all the questions but my mind has worked overtime on this issue ant any advice is greatful!!!!!

Hi Karen

I never soak the nail when doing gel as I find the nail will expand when wet and shrink back when dry which can affect the gel.

I just use a baby wipe on my clients and a quick spray of a sanitiser. I find that most clients want toes in summer so will be wearing flip flops, but you will get the odd one as you say that had been working all day with shoes and socks on so I find the baby wipes are great and they reassure the client and she'll feel nice and fresh.

Whoops forgot to mention.. when they come back the gel has usually grown out so much you can just buff it down and start again, but If you really need to soak off then a cotton pad with foil is best

I don't mind feet (when they are clean lol)
if they come in and are really smelly or dirty then the mask and gloves come out and i just say it is for health and safety reasons,
always use a sanitizer just be on the safe side,
good idea with the wipes.

Thanks Karen! (great name by the way)

Good old baby wipes eh?!! great idea! I think i tend to over analyze things sometimes and end up panicking and imagining the worst case scenario lol :Scared: which in my head I`m sure is much worse than reality!!!!
