Hi all,

Im in need of some inspiration to decorate my home nail salon..!!

At the moment Ive got magnolia walls and a horrible blue carpet left from
the previous owner (only been in the house 11 months) so its in need of
a FACE-LIFT after xmas...!!

I have decided at the moment to have the artex removed from the ceiling
to leave a nice flat finish..!!

Walls and floor.....not sure what to have..???

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated!!

:hug::hug: xxxx

I have cream walls, beech coloured floor and wall cupboards, a beech coloured, industrial grade vinyl floor (to cope with castor chairs) and a wooden blind.

It is a small room and IMO looks better for being neutral...........clients tell me it is very relaxing.

I've left the artex on the ceiling:lol:

take a look at my salon (click on the link in my sig) and see what you think. The walls are pure white, the floors are polished a rich chestnut brown, and the units are gloss white. There is enough colour in the furnishings etc without having the walls a colour too.
My clients tell me how calming and intimate it feels!

The spa i work at has come up with a lovely idea and have drapped some green silky fabric around 3 poles on the celling. It looks gorgeous. I am opening my home salon after xmas too hun.
Good luck with it! xxx

Every salon I ever worked in had cream walls, so when I opened mine (which is a high-street salon) I went for a light & warm yellow. Part of the reason was because I like the yellow & gold of the Decleor products, but also because I felt it would warm up the rooms a little. To bring a bit of colour to the room I decided on dark chocolate brown & burnt orange towels, cushions, seat covers, curtains etc. Everyone says how nice the colour scheme is & as a result the same colour is now gracing quite a few of my clients' houses!

I went for beech laminate flooring for hygeine reasons; every other place I've worked in had carpet & it got dirty & tired looking very quickly. The ceiling is artexed, but I'm putting money aside to remedy that - some of them look like stalagtites!

Hello I am opening my home based Salon January 12th yay, any who I also go to school for interior design and one of the reasons of having my own salon is that I can re-docorate when ever I want to! I always think about the core structure and what your willing to do....do you have $ right away to remove the Blue carpet and replace it? if not go off of that color to decorate, with the blue you can use it as an accent piece or they have cheap carpet tiles that would be good for a salon of course after you rip up the old carpet you lay the tiles down they remove easly and I bealive you can wash them! Once you get colors off of your core structure Floor, walls and ceiling you bring them in to incorporate the rest; furniture, blinds, drapes. Because they are the biggist area and were talking about a salon you probubly want to go with lighter colors on the wall. Do you have a favorite Painting or piece of decor and want it in your salon ? Then go off of the color in your piece and bring them to the walls and flooring!

Hope this has helped Spark some Ideas! Kytanna
