Hiya, me again!!
I'm waiting on my samples of PR and Berins being delivered so in the meantime, I've purchased a generic brand of hot wax (which comes in the form of a creme designed for brazilians and sensitive areas so the packaging says) and it's sat in my heater...
Now, I'm curious, I've got my thermostat turned up almost to full power as anything less doesn't seem to melt it into a workable formula BUT, even at this temperature, the top 1cm refuses to melt - it's forming like a 'skin' on the top, if I dig underneath it, the wax is melted (almost to the point of liquid) but at any lower temperatures, I can't dig through the 'skin'?!
I've tried lid on, lid off, high heat for the first couple of hours then stirring, high heat for the first couple of hours then stirring and bringing the temperature down but nothing seems to be working! Is this usual of hot wax or have I just picked one that isn't that easy to work with?
When I dig underneath the skin and bring the liquid hot wax to the surface, it cools quickly enough for me to work with without burning but it doesn't half leave the wax pot in a mess and I'm a bit OCD when it comes to how things look, can anyone shed any light please?
Thanks
