Hotels in Newcastle

Hi Geeks,

A real quickie. I am whisking my fiancée away next weekend to Newcastle. Just for one evening, he used to go to Uni there so I'm gonna surprise him, and we're meeting up with some of his old friends. (Hold the best girlfriend award).

Has any body got a recommendation for a hotel? Price isn't really a problem, but I was hoping for something at least a 4*.

The malmaison i think thats how you spell it, its down on the quay side and its totally lush, yes it is exspensive but its so worth it

Malmaison is great or the Grey Street hotel, it's just down from the theatre Royal and really lovely. You can get some seriously good deals on it as well.

Malmaison definately. Perfect location to see all the bridges, and near a lovely bar called pitcher and piano and lovely on quayside x
