i have duplex kidneys and twin urethras, so in effect 4 kidneys and 4 tubes, greedy bat that i am lol...
my specialist told me that virtually ANY fluid was good to flush the system through, water, coffee, even guinness lol... as long as you're having an intake of fluids of some sort.
it helps to prevent blow-back infections, but obviously if there are other conditions to consider then get medical advice before consuming too much of the 'wrong' fluids :wink2:

Just a quick question: how did you know your cervix had eroded?

i think they can tell when you've had a smear.

It'll be the most pleasant experience of your life (NOT !!)

On a serious note, you really should have one.

Will be even more of a major bad experience if you dont have regular smears and end up with abnormal cells that are not detected!!!

I've never had a smear either, I just can't seem to face calling the doctors to book an appointment.

Seems silly really cos i've had a baby but just the thought of it makes me shiver and I really hate my doctors.

Its usually the nurse that does the smears.

I know but it still makes me shiver.

I don't know why I'm like this as I had one when I was pregnant, because I had some problems in pregnancy, I think it's the thought of having it at the doctors.yuk

Hi hun

I know that cranberry is supposed to be very good for this sort of condition.

Don't try to force yourself to drink too much water at once, just gradually do it, always keep a bottle with your or put some aside in the kitchen. Instead of having tea or coffee go for the water. You will get used to it. On my diet I'm supposed to drink 6 pints! I can just about manage 4!

Honey, a bad experience should not put you off having one of these. not sure what your experience was, but if it was some perv doctor, then see a female doctor or ask for a female nurse to be present. at our doctors you can get the nurse to do it as they are usually qualified to carry this out, and i have never had a smear that hurt but if it did i would ask for someone else to do it. its too important to miss because of a bad experience. if you're worried pm me your number and we'll have a natter. i'm queen of bad experiences.

Thanks Antonia!
