right girlies!

i going to have a bit of a moan but i also want your opinion.
We recently got a new owner who has changed our wages and is also changing the way our comission works, so hopefully we will be on better money. He has sorted out what the hairdressers are getting but not what us beauty therapist's as if we were on the same scheme as the hairdressers we would never hit comission as the prices are totally different. So for 3 months now if have been living off me basic hourly wage which is getting a joke now, just like everyone i have a house to run and the money is rubbish!

so what i want to know is how your comission works as i want to try and give him so ideas, he obviously can't think of any himself that will benefit him aswell as us so i wanted to know what the majority of you got if any.

thanks guys

I hope I've understood the post correctly, forgive me if I'm barking up the wrong tree but maybe something like you getting a commission from any retail products you sell?

sorry if what i put earlier wasnt clear this whole comission thing is starting to wind me up.

At the moment i do not get any comission not even retail. Before the new owners took over i got 10% retail and 25% service once i reached a certain price but the new owners does not like that idea so stop giving us comission but has not started a new comission scheme so all i am working for is a pathetic minimum wage.

so i wanted other therapists views on what they think is fair or how much they get from services and retail

I'm certainly no expert on employment law but I would have thought that the new owner should be paying you at least the average of what you were earning before.

Try posting a thread on Employment Problems - The Consumer Forums to find out more of the legalities of what he's doing.

i dont know if this helps but when i took over my rooms in local salon i sort of inheriated a girl,so what i done was pay her £10.00 per set of nails,i charge £29 any extras like gems etc thats for herself, but i do provide them, infills etc we go 60/40 to myself but then any add ons (gems/art is hers)this works well with us as clients choose who they wont and when one of us are busy we always try to sell the other,we both do ok and any products sold the profits are split 60/40 again ,in december(first one this year) as a kind of exmas bonus hth hun x
