I am relatively new but for you more experienced techs, I was wondering how you feel about the techs you have seen here asking repetative Q's as we do and watch them grow into great nail techs through your help.

How does it make you feel??

This site is the most wonderful, informative and genuine sharing of knowledge that I know of. I would have loved it had it been available when i was a newbie tech, and so appreciate it now as there is still so much to learn and clarify/ It gives me great inspiration, enthusiasm and a further understanding of this exciting industry. I get the warm fuzzies everyday from this site:hug:

I receive much pleasure seeing people succeed in what they enjoy doing.:) and as I have such a burning passion for this industry and all that it offers I feel delighted that I can be part of another technicians journey.

There is always so much to learn
Andrea

Chuffed to bits that I can help:) and very grateful, that there are always peeps on here who can help me:hug:

I don't know that I'm "proud" per se, because I still have PLENTY to learn myself.
I think it's more like I'm "flattered" that I was able to help someone, and they drop me a line telling me that I did indeed help them? It makes me feel great and like "wow! I was able to help!".
I still consider myself a newbie in many ways, despite 15yrs with tip-n-dip and about 5 with gel.

When I can churn out a set as nice as Judy1999's or one of other fab techs, then I'll feel proud.
For the time being, I feel pleased.

:green:

Ask sheryl (Grafxgal).. (big grin)
Without this place and more importantly her.. i wouldn't be half the tech i am.. she is a task master and brutally honest at times, but without her id still be doing porn star nails...

As far as helping others, well i just see it as respect for the people who have helped me, if we keep helping eachother then we will all benefit!

(another big grin)

I think it's a wonderful privilege to be able to help new technicians and then watch them grow.

I remember posting a set of French tipped fibreglass enhancements when I was a new'ish tech and having their faults pointed out to me as well as the areas I needed to concentrate on. I took the info on board and did feel a bit deflated that I hadn't done as good a job as I 'thought' I had; but you know, without the help I received I wouldn't have improved and I truly believe that if all new techs are open minded to receiving help and advice then they too will improve and then feel grateful (as I do) for the help they receive on here.

I really enjoy helping those that are newer than me, I have learned so much from members on here.

It also makes me think hard about how to word things so that they are crystal clear.

Well I absolutely love watching the progression of many of the technicians here on the site and feel very proud to know I have helped a little in that progression.

LOVE it when they are on ALL the time and then less and less as they get busier and busier in the salon or their business.

I am very proud when I get pm's of thanks and appreciation for help and advice given ... it makes it all worthwhile doesn't it? A little thanks is a tonic.

I am not happy when I am forced to give a brutal critique of someones work but sometimes, the truth has to be told in brutal honesty or the person will be satisfied with what they have done and never move on. Seen that so many times. "If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen" was one of my fathers favourite expressions and it is true.
