Hi Guys.

I am in need of some help. I would like some better ideas for getting new clients. I started out doing mobile acrylic, manicures and pedicures in August and so far haven't had one reply to any thing I have put out there.
I have asked family and friends to take a price list and/or posters in to work.
I have a number of ideas of things to do but until I have a bit more money I am limited to printing things off on computer at home.
Can any of you help?
I am also designing my website so that should help soon.
Cheers:)

Have you placed your ad on places such as yell.com, freeindex.co.uk, gumtree, google ads, netmums...? I put my ad on maybe 2 weeks ago now and have had a couple of emails asking for price lists and 1 new client.

I have put on gumtree and yell.com. Also thomson local, trade it,qype, hot frog and some more I think.
I will try the others. Iwas going to do netmums but didn't have time the otherday.
Thanks for your ideas

hi
sorry to hear that things are not going well for you.
have a look on vista print you can get lots of free buisness cards etc on there and they look a lot more professional than printed bits of paper.
i am mobile i started out in september last year but was very slow to begin with. i went round putting flyers through peoples doors (that i had printed out from computer),put adverts up in local takeaways/shops leaflet drops at the nursery. and a bit like you, did not get much response to begin with as there are alot of salons in my area. i got some really nice postcards and business cards from vista print and it made a big difference and it made me look professional and gave me an identity.
the turn around for me was putting an advert in the local paper and i had a real positive responce from that, i then get clients from recomendations of these people. its really hard when you first start out but you just have to keep working at it be patient it wont happen over night you have to put alot of work into it at the begining and just offer the best service possible if you want it enough it will happen.
good luck
claire x

Thank you
I'll look in to vista print. I'm always getting emails from them anyway.

I agree, vista print is great for free, professional looking stuff.

I did a massive leaflet drop. Just one sided A4, which i had a company photocopy and i got hundreds, maybe 500 for £20. Got loads of clients from this.

Good luck

Sorry to jump in on this thread hun - Flawless - where did you drop your leaflets? Did you do a business or residential drop? x

I did a residential drop, because i work on an estate.

But a few people i know put them in businesses so i've got about a dozen from them too xx

My first clients were friends and cooworkers of my family and friends. I did their nails and feet and sent them to the world to brag about the new nailtech in town :green:

Also, Gigi's advice - I was leaving my business cards in lady's rooms, and pretty much everywhere. And you never know who will pick it up. Some ladies were carrying it for months before they called me! (when they were in need for a new tech or finding someone quickly). Only thing is, when you're starting out, it's hard to wait... just hang in there, it will come.

Hi, I qualified at the end of last year and have been working mobile ever since. I am only now getting to point where I am thinking yes this could work. I began by getting special offer cards, business cards, car magnets and anything else you can think of from Vista print. I had everything matching with my name so people recognised me. I offered to do a first time special price for nails and toes and then tried to get people to book in for there next appointment. I also did a it of advertising on gum tree but also put one of my special offer cards in the local shops they only charge a couple of pound for a month and put your card in the window. I put them in all the newsagents & post offices nearby even the local chippy. I dont know if this is of any help to you but keep at it because it advertising works eventually and the best advert of is word of mouth and doing your own nails so that people notice them.

A facebook group is also really good for getting local clients..friends of friends!

Thanks for all your help guys.
Will do some of the ideas made.
Thanks again. Everyone

Also make sure your nails always look there best as theres no better advertising than you show casing what you can do.:)
