Has anyone read I can make you thin by Paul Mkenna??? I have just bought it and wondered if anyone else had read it or tried his theory out??
 
No personal experience, but I have a client who has lost a pile of weight (2 stone so far) using the Paul McKenna theory and book.
 
What does he do?? Is it hypnotism??
 
tried it, sorry hun, did nothing for me:cry: but I know loads of peeps who have done well on it.

I prefer slim for some reason lol,
I dont want to be thin, but i would like to be slim,

Thin gives the image in my head of underweight...but slim gives me the image of a lovely toned tanned body lol,
am I strange ?

Have to admit.......when I had my second daughter I came out of hospital weighing 8st4lb the day after she was born,(lowest I had been since the age of 12)
I hadnt ate properly for months due to heartburn..and was anemic (sp?) too,.
so looked "thin" pale and withdrawn,
But yet felt a sense of joy everytime someone said "ooh you look thin hun, you need to eat properly and put on weight ...
bad that isnt it lol
 
Its based on the concept of healthy mindset Judy, he simply says eat what you want when you want so long as you are truly hungry, (he teaches you how to recognise hunger on a scale ) and to savour every mouthfull and stop when you are comfortably full (again you are taught how to recognise this) because nothing is banned and there are no hard rules to follow typical dieters can relax and stop fretting over sins/points/cals etc and learn how to enjoy food and stop seeing it as the enemy.....its an amzing book I tried the theory today and its amazing how when I wait to be hungry before I eat how different my habits become and because I know I CAN have a biscuit I kinda dont want one!!!
Emmsy....try it your more than welcome to borrow the book once we have read it if you like......a diet with no rules!!! Wicked!!!

Actually I was thinking Nat Cassidys looked good too!!! Guess who has piled wieght on this ;ast year ai?!!!!:hug:
 
Sounds good. I was brought up in a house where you couldn't leave the table until you had cleared your plate. My parents didn't have much money in the 70's and it stayed with me for years. Unfortunately I took it to the extreme at times by not eating but am trying now to eat as healthy as I can and exercise....to the amazement of my family!!
Just gotta stop the coffee and smoking somewhat....they are my vices tbh.

couldnt do anymore lol,

Not slow painful ones

he mentions this on the cd, that its ok to leave food. he actually says you should always leave something.

i havent tried it but a client has the Dvd's, to date shes lost 3.5 stone, she started in early November last year!!!!!!

According to her, its changed the way she feels about food, she no longer craves for things, and she will only eat if she is hungry, if she feels a hunger pang, she tries a chewing gum or a glass of water forst to see if its thirst or her jaw, apparently your jaw can be a big factor in you over eating (it is in my case, its just too big!lol!), not sure how but this is what she told me!

I think once you get happy and comfortable in a situation, the weight does creep on, Im trying to lose aswell, I have lost about 1.5 stone since October. Not too bad, but would prefer it to be more like 4 stone!!:hug:
 
I have not listened to the cd but shall be on creepy alert!! It is weird yet clever and ever so simple what he says, eat when your hungry and stop when your comfortably full, if you feel hungry in an hour then fine eat again and stop when your full....the whole concept of eating when YOU want and WHAT YOU want oddly seems to stop you wanting it!! Usually when my partner comes in from work she makes me a cup of tea and we tend to end up munching digestives for no reason! Last night becuase I knew if I wanted to do that I could, I kinda didnt!! I WAS hungry but had a banana....I cant explain it its wierd!! Its taken my whole focus of calorie counting and label reading!!! Be good to hear what others think too!!
