Hi guys

I.m new to this, so don't know if its in the right place etc, apologies in advance for lond windedness.
I have been using IBD L & P for aprox 2 yrs now and recently had a couple of probs with long standing clients...here goes...

1. Customer came in 3 weeks ago for rebalance (which she does every 3 weeks, she doesn't like a basic infill!!) which i did as normal. She came back for her apt aprox 3 weeks later they had grown quicker than normal with quite a bit of lifting - the only thing that was different is she had been on holiday and i applied IBD intense seal insead of Acylic Bright. I filed down as normal, applied acrylic as normal, but when i got to both thumbs, she complained they where burning very hot (like red hot pokers??), this lasted about 30 seconds and then they returned to normal. Is it something i did or does this just happen from time to time?

2. I have been doing a customers nails for approx 12 mths, a couple of months ago she lost 3 nails and i couldnt fit her in for an apt when she could come, so she decided to remove the nails herself leave them of for a couple of weeks and have a new set applied for her holiday. I applied the new set and she went on holiday ( as above used Intense seal instead of Acrylic Bright), when she came back to me for infills (2weeks), her nails had lifted at the free edge (not the base), she had been sticking glue down the back of them to try and hold them in place. I wanted to do a soak off but she did not have time, so i did an infill hoping that the lift will have grown out by her nxt appt. Does anyone know why this happened, is it because her nails were to thin etc, did i do the right thing.

I am a bit concerned as these problems have never happened before and i do not want to start loosing customers>
Sorry if i have gone on 2 much
Please Help.....

I could be wrong, but the possibilities are..
She is harder on her thumbnails so they may be quite weak (does she break them often ?? )
Or it could be that as you were trying to pick up larger beads for the thumbs, you have maybe picked up a wetter bead than normal..
If you ratio is out this can cause the "heat spike"
I have 1 client who has always from day one, had this sensation in both her forefingers and no other ...weird !

Where the enhancements tip and overlay ...sculptured or natural nail overlay Hun ?
Did you explain the possibilities of her developing a bacterial infection due to the application of glue down her own nails !!!
There could have been all sorts of nasties under there
As I said I may be totally wrong with my reply, I am sure you will receive many more answers...
I don't use IBD either, so can't comment on whether it has anything to do with the product xxx

I've had connexions with IBD's and have never heard such problems CAUSED by the Intense Seal, if used correctly.

if it heats, tell the client to take her hand out of the lamp, then go back in, and out if needed. but the finishing gel shouldn't heat (I've been said. I experienced heating on my own nail with a finishing gel but I assumed it was due to other things)

if it is a builder gel that heats, it's quite common and can be easily avoided if you build your apex in 2 beads, or with a smaller bead ;)

for the second client, how did she take off her nails?
if she soaked them off, then ok, if not, she's most likely to have damaged her nail plate, over filing, ripping it out, etc... over thinning... then an enhancement may not stay.
or maybe she used a nail strengthener, and these can also be a lifting cause, if she's applied some within the last 2 weeks before her appt with you.

With respect to Doorie ... unless you are actually the distributor of a product you are unlikely to have heard of a persistent problem with a particular product.

Your best bet is to ring your distributor and ASK them if they have had similar complaints.

If as a distributor I got persistent complaints about a product I checked into it with my parent company.

No company wants problems with anything so your complaints are not just ignored (well not if the distributor is a reputable on anyway).

Hi thanks for replies
I use clear tip and overlay. She said they lifted straight away but didn't have time to come in before her holiday (she is a hairdresser) so she applied the glue down them so they would last on her holiday. Not sure how she took them off, she said she had soaked them but you can never tell what they do at home. They did not seem to be too weak when she came back for the new set but in hindsight maybe they were to thin but i thought after 2 weeks they would be ok to reapply.

I think you may be right about me applying too much on the thumbs, they always seem to be a bit fatter than the rest and i have to do more filing to thin out.
