hello i am opening my new salon on april 1st i have got someone to open it for us but would like some ideas of what i could actually do on the day. I am going to provide drinks and nibbles but would like to arrange somthing different to draw people in maybe do somthing for charity but i cant think what!!!any help would be fantastic thankyou

Sponsored head shaves,
i know its lame but it usually works well,
do you have a qualified friend that could do some sponsored waxing for you,
most people will pay to see men been waxed hth

for our open day one year we had everyone doing a demonstration, one did colour, one did a cut, one was putting hair up, one was chemically straightening, after all an open day of a salon should kinda be focused around the service u are providing. show people what u are going to be providing them with, quality hairdressing speaks for itself without the gimmicks, and if answering questions whilst doing the demonstration u and ur staff will be showing ur wealth of knowledge. . x

could you make some little goodie bags up for people who come in, put some money off vouchers in or do a poster with up and coming promotions etc , maybe some little products that you will be using in your salon .

Have plenty of colour charts and colour swatches on display
works like a charm
you will have people queing up wanting to ask you colour questions ,

I have found people are always very interested in looking at colour charts
and if possible have some hair swatches that they can hold and handle

so that they can place colours by their own hair and ask stylists questions
about the colours they like
this then opens up a chance of booking colour consultations and appointments,

also if you are offering extensions make sure extension colour ring swatches are also on display
as all of the above gives the shy but potential client something interesting
to look at and not feel left out ,

it works really well alongside demos , as the stylist can refere to what colours on the chart they are using ,
and what products they are using to shampoo it all off and condition ect....
and try to sell and display the whole range you are using in the demo ,

you may just sell lots on the day ,
so hold back on the goody bags till later

and dont put the same products in the goody bag
that you are using on your demos or they may not want to buy stuff

bring out the nibbles afterwards
or they wont be listening as intently
hope that made sense
