Ideas on how to fix a goofy finger

Hi Everyone,

My sister caught her finger in a door months ago and it never healed right, now her finger nail grows in goofy. Also the other day she banged the same nail playing vollyball and hurt it again. Her finger hurts her all the time and now she can't straighten her finger unless she assist it. The tip of her finger goes white and the skin surrounding it is hard as a rock. She wants me to do her nails but I don't think I should untill her finger heals. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with her finger or suggestions on how to fix it??
