Ikea desks used as nail desks?

In the academy I have Vika Amon desks for students, and down the salon end I use the Vika Amon desk top and 2 Vika Alex drawer units, plenty big enough, not too wide and I can get everything I need on it.
They are pretty tough, I have been using it solidly for a year, and students using the others for a year and I haven't had to replace the tops yet.
My desk has had acetone, monomer etc spilt on it and it didn't affect it at all, however getting a form insert stuck on it did pull a bit of the laminate off, so I will be replacing it, but to be fair £15 a year isn't too much of a hardship.

Any one know what this desk is called from ikea?

the majority of us (and the last 2 geeks that attached pics) have the vika amon table top(comes in several colours) with the vika adils legs (also come in several colour)......there are 2 drawer units you can use with it the vika alex, there are other storage too.....i couldnt decide when i got mine so just bought the lennart drawer unit x

I'm having a custom made black glass one done which should be here within about 10 days. I'm really excited as I've been stretching over my old beauty bed for weeks! My boyfriend specialises in glass so I'm allowing him to let his creative side out ;) ill post pics once its done!!

its the malm dressing table and yes its current, think its about £100 (my ex husband worked for ikea!)

Yes I've had it less than 6 months. I can't remember the exact price, but I'm sure it was under £100. There were loads though - definitely worth going for a walk around if you have an Ikea near you.

I got a lot of stuff for my salon in there. I got the chair you see in the picture, the lamp you see on the left (and a floor standing one of these for waxing/make up). I got the little filing cabinet that's under the desk which is wear I store all my gelicure and nail art bits etc....

That's really nice what price range r they if you don't mind me asking Hun x

Here is my desk. Its 2 sets of drawers £25 each and the top (I can't remember) I cut to size as I couldn't get the one I had before when I was in Germany.

I have in the past I will say if you can get a glass cover for it , or what I did was got a clear plastic floor mat ( the ones that are supposed to go under your chair) I used that on the desk as the finish will stain /scratch quite easy .

Other than that I enjoyed working at it , a lot of space , can add nice draws /doors or simple baskets , look stylish , nice display area on top to ,

I've started setting up already but I have a lot to do lol. I'd love to get hold of a sheet of glass to go on top of it but I'm not sure where I would find one :-(

I'm loving it!!! It's perfect for what I need :-D

When I first set up my home salon as when your starting out it's a lot to pay out to start with so I got an ikea desk and love it I am thinking about treating myself to a new nail desk not sure lol but there is nothing wrong with mine had plenty of spillage on it an it's fine. Here's my set up still bare lol an still more to add but gettin there slowly x

Can I ask where your chairs are from? The wicker looks fab and they look so comfortable! :)

Haven't read through the whole thread but I made all my nail stations. The legs and unit is from ikea but the worktop isn't.

They look very very expensive when you see them and they cost a whole lot less than a big standard nail station

Don't know why the picture didn't upload on the last post 😳

Didn't want to create a new thread for this but I'm looking at this table from ikea to be used as a nail bar for two techs.
