Hi im new this is my first post :)

I'm doing a nail technology course and i've been given my first assignment yay! lol. Anyways for the first question it say's ''Describe the following nail diseases/contra-indications listed below:'' i have quite a few along with severe eczema and severe psoriasis, but i also have severe skin conditions to describe...how do u descirbe that in general :irked:, i've already described eczema and psoriasis which are the main two. So im stuck with it really lol. I hope i've put enough info for u to help me :)

If you do a google search for the diseases you need descriptions for there are plenty of medical sites which give a lot of info including pictures. If you don't have specific diseases then just search for something general such as 'nail diseases' or 'skin diseases' and I'm sure you'll find just what you're looking for.

Please don't think we're being mean not giving you the info ourselves. It's just that if you do the research yourself you'll gain far more information and come across lots of really good sites which you can refer to later on.

Good luck with the course

I have searched and searched though lol. I'm really stuck and can't find a single thing! lol.

hi Google it and you cant go wrong x

Hi. Do you have any theory books?
I can recommend "The Complete Nail Technician" by Marian Newman.

There is an "Encyclopedia of Nails" too which I have.

These will have loads of contra-indications, pictures, descriptions etc..... if you can't find one / don't have the monry at the mo try your local library - they stock that sort of thing too.

hth xxxxx

Another great book to get is Doug Schoon's Nail Structure and Product Chemistry. Loads of info and easy to understand too.

hth:)

You will find all those books in the library lovey
i would defo get a copy to relate back too ive all the ones listed including nail class and i always refer back to them

invest in them they helped mould my future in the nail industry
you need to have these answers embedded in your head because a client will walk in with one of these contraindications and you will need to know what to do

I have the Lorraine Nordman one :) It's ok i asked my tutor :) Thanks guys anyways.
