I've had this little gem in my cupboard now for a few years so decided to get it out and have a little play as I saw the potential for airbrush tatoos at a recent festival.......charging from £5.00...but that's another story!

Now the airbrush tattoos are quite straightforward so I thought I'd have a little play with some nail paints and stencils.....hmmm not so straightforward lol

Now to my question.....is there a way that you can set the airbrush to a maximum setting so you don't pull the trigger back too far thus releasing to much paint, or is it just a matter of practice to get your air and paint and distance ratio right?

I know I should do a course to get the best from my equipment but I'm just playing at home with it at the moment.

Thanks in advance

Hi Cathie, I have the HP-B Iwata and as far as I know there is no way to set the airbrush it is a case of trial and error with your push down pull back technique.

Thought this might be the case! Thanks for the info.

You can buy a, erm, not sure what they're called, but you know the bit that screws over the needle? The end bit - opposite the nozzle - bear with me, I'm having a blonde moment here. Anyway, you can buy these that have a little screw adjuster thing in them that restricts the amount of air and paint coming out - quite handy if you haven't quite got the hang of it manually. I'll see if I can figure out the name of them and let you konw, but I have a feeling they might be around the £25.00 mark!

Well Jackie, you learn something new everyday. I am sure Cathie will be delighted that there is something out there.

Pre-set handle - that's what it's called!

And they sell 'em here for £25.00

Thanks for that....have been playing a bit more today and am getting to grips with the trigger lol, I know I really need to do a course but this thing has been in my cupboard for so long I thought it was time to get it out!

The airbrush tattoo thing though.....if there are any geeks who fancy renting a space at a festival, there is definately money to be made! Speculate to accumulate......we could have a Geeky co-operative eco friendly stall lol

I used to do this a few years ago but before I got my airbrush (used to do it by hand) and I did very, very well.
