At present we don't retail or offer make up in our salon, my daughter has done the weeks course with Jane Iredale as she loves make up, however the outlay isn't cheap!

Would love to know opinions from any of you out there who stock and use it, do your clients love it, does it sell itself - my daughter is nervous regarding me getting the stock pack as it will be down to her to use, sell it.

We used to sell this brand in a salon i worked at. No one had heard of it and it just sat on the shelves. I didnt mind the makeup, it was ok but there are other brands that are better and cheaper. Clients werent prepared to spend the money on a product they hadnt heard of. Is it well known where the salon is located? What type of clients does the salon mainly attract as in age group, money they spend on treatments and products, do many show an interest in makeup?

I have had JI for about 10 years now. I think it is one of the best, purest make ups available on the market today. For a long time I didn't retail much, but used it very successfully for wedding make up which more than paid for itself, but once I got my own salon and added a retail display, we are selling a lot. As we are known locally for specialising is skincare, the make up sits really well with this, so I win a lot of clients who have struggled with skin problems as JI's purity is second to none.

Make up was always my first love, and now I use nothing else on my skin.

Any questions, please ask.

Jane Iredale is getting more popularity for various items and effective Makeup Kits but i think, we can get more leading and cheap makeups in market.

I also do - on odd occasions - make up Mondays which is where I invite clients in for a complimentary make up. I book an hours slot and put it on Facebook and in emails etc. We actually offer complimentary make overs but doing it this way gets them booking. I do their make up and encourage them to wear it for the day. Last time I did it I sold over £400 in the day and more later in the week. I still do a lot of weddings and sell a lot on impulse purchases.

Just to say that the opening order is quite a lot, but you do get a lot of stock with it. If you do go ahead, I'm really happy to have a chat with your daughter about what retails and more importantly, what doesn't.

Hey Lovely!

I have worked with JI a few times over my career, and have at present been working with it for two years. I have worked with Youngblood and ID Minerals in the past, both of which are lovely, however neither hit the mark the way Jane has for me.

I work in an inner-city salon, and people come in just to buy the makeup based on friend's recommendations, online forums and magazine write ups. Not only does it have the best reputation as far as mineral makeup is concerned, but we find that a lot of Dermatologists are recommending it to their clients.

I totally understand your misgivings about the initial outlay, but as with any 100% professional product, you get what you pay for. Jane Iredale prides itself on not only being mineral, but vegan where possible and cruelty-free, something which we are very proud to tell our clients.

For peace of mind, I would pop in to a salon nearby that uses it and have your makeup done. Ask 1298032 questions. I can sit here for ten years talking it up, but in the end it's your choice alone! Would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

I'm the same @KHarvey. I'm passionate about it and could talk about it forever. We're in a barn in the middle of nowhere and have people drive to us to buy it x

Hi Vic

I think I private messaged you but not sure as I've not used the new format :/. We've taken the plunge and are going for the Essentials Gallery, I would be really grateful for your advice on what sells best.

Regards
Carla
