My first set of acrylic nails on someone else.

Took me 3 hours and 25 minutes? The acrylic application didn't take long it was the blending the tip that took the longest, i've already improved in my blending skills since doing my course i can see that but how long will it be before i take 2hours..or even 2 1/2 i did one hand last night that took 1hr 50 and another hand at 7am this morning that took and hour and 35?

I'll add a photo to my gallery later as i can't post in a thread, there just natural tips.

Please leave honest comments i know there's quite a few problems but when i did them i was amazed at how well my acrylic application had come on!!

Hi Doll

The more nails you to your time will get better.. But time does not matter if you have just started out and the end result in great.. Good luck xx

Just wondered, what tips are you using and have you tried pre-blending them?

Dont worry yourself. When I first started it took me 3 and a half to 4 hours to do a full set. The other night I did a set in 1hr 30. It just comes with practice. Have you tried the well less tips? They will cut your timings down.

Hi Kaye,

If we are all honest I do believe we all took about that time when we first started, but when you keep doing more and more nails, like the girls have said, you cut your time down, and with application you also cut your down, are you using fullwell tips? I would do as the girls suggested and use well less tips.....saves so much time.

Good luck. :):):):)

Well done at only taking that amount of time to do your first full set, it took me a lot longer than that to start with.

why dont you have a go at the well less tips which you only remove the surface shine with, this may help with your timing until you gain a little more confidence with blending.

:)

Hey hun!! Have you tried pro impresssions tips. I use these they require no blending just removal of the shine the address is www.proimpressions.com there called advanced tips I use the natural smile tips and they are so flexible and have a lovely smile line they also come in white and clear hope this helps xx

Timing does come with practice I promise:hug: as already said, get some tips that don't need blending its such a time saver.
In the mean time and if you don't want to waste the tips you already have, as Stephen said, pre blend them.
I used to sit in front of the telly and do a whole box. Its better for the client to, less risk of catching their natural nail and less time for them to get board watching you file:lol:

Hi Hun,
Yes I too have sat watching TV pre blending a whole box of tips.
It would save you quite a bit of time.
Lotsa luv x  x

fullwell tips another name for full contact area? i'm using partial contact area.. i don't want to pre-blend them as if i do that they always need mroe work to match it to clients nail. . my client did have extremely wide short nail beds and they were so bitten i couldn't file.
almost like male nails(feel awful saying that)

I have been qualified a year and take 1 1/2 to 2 hours t do a really good set.

I used to take about the same time you are taking so don't worry....I was gutted when I'd finished. I always thought I'd been dead quick til I looked at the clock, lol!!!!!

Looking back I put on too much acrylic, only to have to file it all down which increases time. Also if you try and get your application of product as perfect as you possibly can and take your time on this, the filing process is much shorter.

Hope this helps!!

Well done, I think that's pretty good going for a first set. You should be quite pleased with yourself! :)

Something that bothers me, when people talk about how long a set took, is what is it a set of? Is it pink and whites or a one colour application, as it does make a difference?
