I've looked through the other threads but couldnt fond anything that helped.....I've been on a maintenance appointment today and after 2 months wear the bonds have gone White. I've not seen this before and wondered if anyone could shed any light on this for me?? I've used celebrity elite bohyme pre bonded on this client. Thanks

did the client maybe colour her hair or anything xxx

She's done her roots which I thought maybe that had caused it but apart from that I'm not sure what else to blame for it???

She has used something high protein, either the colour or shampoo etc. Once the bonds go white they are starting to degrade, and letting water in. They need to be replaced.

Thanks for your help! They've been on for two months so we've agreed to replace any really thin bonds with hair left over from the original fitting which should tide her over for another 4 weeks as the rest look really thick still and are still well bonded with no sign of slippage.

White, crumbly bonds can indicate that the client has been either leaving her hair damp and not drying thoroughly, or not washing the hair enough and the build up of natural oil is degrading the bonds (as Dawn said). if you smell the bonds, you can normally smell if it is a build up of oil.:green:

Thanks, they're not crumbly, they're intact just look White in colour.....she's going to have them back in as the hair is in excellent condition so what is best to tell her to wash it in just so we can try to eliminate a recurrence of this.

Clients should always be advised to use a specialist hair extension shampoo and conditioner. Other shampoos will degrade the glue and it will cause all sorts of issues. One of them being they can be more difficult to take out. If they've gone sticky it is a nuisance and a risk. Need to be very attentive to using enough debonder. No picking at all. :)
As I use Lush Us hair then my clients also use their products. I went to one client recently and her hair looks and feels like new still after 2 and half months. I asked her what she has washed it in and it is Lush Us Shampoo and conditioner. And she straightens EVERY day!

just reading all of your messages, well I have been using Bonita Hair Extensions for the past 7 months and the quality of the hair is great and the same three months later as the day it was put in, I use any shampoo mainly Aussie and also have dyed my hair a couple of times due to grey bits!!! and the bonds are still perfect and not one extension has come out, they are bonded with Italian keratin and the hair is Indian Remy Grade AAA, thats why I guess I can use anything on it and I do straighten it but that last for about 3 days so no need to keep straightening it. try them out!
