Hello everyone

I am thinking of purchasing a Konad kit but I know there seems to be mixed feelings on this. The last thread I saw on the subject was a couple of years ago though so I wondered if any one you still use konad and whether you think it is worth the investment? It seems a quick and easy way to do nail art for a novice like myself but don't want to waste money. For those of you who do offer this service, how much would you charge per nail?

Thanks for your help

Lynn

i use konad and love it (pics in my album).it it easy to use i just wish they did more colours that stand out as the gold and silver you cant really see as much as some of the other colours.
i would recommend it though.x

Although I am not a qualified nail tech (very soon though :D), I have used Konad on myself, and my 4 year old daughter (she adores it lol). I do love it, however, it is definitely a learning curve. I would think having worked with nails professionally you would probably have a much better time at it, but I can tell you, it takes quite a bit of patience. I have found that the only colors that show up really well are the blacks and whites. I tried to do a black and gold look, and you could BARELY see the gold, might look different on a lighter color though.

Your pics are gorgeous! Do you find it easy to do?

Its really easy to do and very quick, I have used them for a few years now mainly for kids parties because of the speed of them and they go mad for them, the only thing is you have to be selective with some of the designs as a lot of them are far too big for little nails, you can however adapt some of them on the stamp to make them smaller.

When you put the top coat on, load your brush and work fast to avoid dragging the design

Hi, I love Konad & I've noticed some of the girls on here myself included seem to be using it more recently, I agree with Tracey Louise tho, bot enough "Stand Out" colours! But soooooo many different design plates too choose from & great fun x

Hi I have just purchase an Konad kit and my little girl love it to. There is a nail geek who sell this, I forgot her name but this is her web site. Professional Supplies for Nail Technicians | Nail Art Products she sell the original Kits. There is a lot of copies on ebay and the design do not stand out as much.

I am not a nail tech in anyway but I originally discovered Konad in a shopping mall in Florida.

It takes practice to get the knack but once you've got it you away; even my husband and 7 year old can do it

There is a tiny promo kit that t £5 if you want to trial it cheaply.

There is also a place in the states, OC Nail Art, that sells them online. If you google it it comes right up. They have all the plates and an extensive array of polishes and accessories. The prices are very reasonable and international shipping is free (and super fast) for all orders over $40 (approx £26). Kathleen is really nice and very helpful. hth xx

That's interesting Frankey, as I too was thinking it would be ideal for kids parties but someone said that with all the cleaning between etc it would take too long and be too much trouble as all the kids would want different designs, if you've been doing them for a few years I take it you haven't found this to be a problem?

The question you should really be considering is whether or not you will make back or how long will it take you to re-coop your original investment from the business it generates .. my guess is a long time.

thankyou
yes i do find it quite easy to use,i love that there are so many different designs without mixing and matching.you just have to remember that some designs have to be back to front if that makes sense because you cant turn them round to do the other hand but most people dont notice anyway.
they just need more stand out colours, hint, hint

I think it depends on what you buy them for..... I bought a kit about 2 and a half years ago, it contained 9 plates plus the polish and top coat and didn't cost too much money (a lot less than a L&P starter kit for sure). The reason I bought it was because I was getting a lot of kids parties - upto 6 in a weekend and had been offering them allsorts of time consuming stuff! I give them a little portfolio to choose from and once I introduced the plates I did nothing else, the kids LOVE them - saved me a lot of time and also the hassle of having to take lots of product (parties are done mobile). Bearing in mind that one party lasting an hour and a half makes me 2.5 times what one set of nail extensions makes me, I recouped the cost 'extremely' quickly :p I have have never bought new plates or additional plates, only replenised the comsumables which you would expect to... for me they have been a little gold mine.....

Not every ones cup of tea but I think they have a place............. If I only had adult clients they may well have been a lost leader.
