Hi all

I noticed the last couple of times I've done glitter nails (only do them on myself at the mo) they seem to be taking absolutey AGES to set!

I know there is a shelf life for the monomer, and wonder if old monomer would act like this? The reason I ask, is I had an unused bottle in the EzFlow Boogie Nights set I bought at a show 3 years ago, totally forgot it existed. I recently bought a new bottle, but am thinking I stupidly may have got them muddled up and opened the wrong one:irked:

Any theories why it would be taking longer than usual to set, if age is not the issue, would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, glitter nails always take longer top set anyway so i wouldnt worry. Use some pink and white and see whether they take as long, if they do, then maybe its the product like you say, or if your hands are cold, this makes effects how quick the acrylic sets too.

have you got your ratio of glitter to powder correct, if theres not enough powder you can have problems.

i use 1 part glitter to 3 parts powder.

I find that some glitters mix need less time to set. it depends on the kind of glitter you use, some may get warm and it cures faster.

other than that, as it's been said, test your monomere with a p&w, but I wouldn't use it anymore.

The other thing that could be the problem is if your room is to cold it takes a while for the product to set equally if the room temp is to hot the product will set quickly.

Hope this has been of some help to you:hug:

I'm uzing EzFlow so the glitter's already in the powder. I think maybe it is a duff monomer through being old. It has been ok with pink & white, but I think to be safe I'm gonna chuck it and use a new bottle.

Thanks all x

maybe you just need to give the pot of powder a really good stir up to redistribute the glitter/ powder.
seems odd that it will work with pink/white though.
have you used the powder before ?

yes, I do each nail a different colour and have used all the powders before, threy've never taken this long to set before! i will give them a mix, see if that makes a difference.
