On my damp hair before blow-drying, I normally apply hair serum (specifically for damp hair, not dry) and also a spray/creme heat protector.

I would just like to know - which one I am supposed to be applying first? Or does it not matter?

Personally I would always make sure the heat protection is the first thing that is added, to make sure that is actually laying on the hair, before anymore products are added.

You could end up just wasting the heat protection spray on the serum rather than on the actual hair.....

Good point. I never thought of it that way!

Does anyone else do it the other way round?

Serum usually goes on wet/damp hair and then heat spray on dry hair before straightening, although serum could be used on dry hair after everything else has been done, to help get rid of the frizzyness that sometimes occurs on certain hair types. So it could be done either way round really, best to see what works best for your hair by trying both.
