Nail brand Essie Cosmetics, which was founded in 1981 by Essie Weingarten, has been acquired by global powerhouse L'Oréal USA.
Essies impressive sales figures, netting $28 million in the past 12 months, means L'Oréal USA is well placed to bolster its influence in the nail care market.
Essie has grown its original portfolio of 12 shades of nail lacquer to become one of the top professional brands. Today, the shade range tops 300, and the products are available in over 250,000 salons and spas in 95 countries. 

Its all change at Essies UK distributor too. Formerly Perfect Nails, the company is now called Louella Belle Limited.
