Forgive me, I am not a hairdresser but seeking some friendly advise.

My hairdresser told me last night that you can buy Loreal Power Dose as a extra supplement for your hair. She also said there is a new supplement called Loreal Optimal (or something like that)???

I do spray tanning, nails etc and do have the facility to purchase trade products, but would just like some advise on these - are they any good?? If so presumably someone like Capital Hair & Beauty would sell them??

How often are you supposed to use them and do they work? I have got highlighed hair which I am trying to grow and its not really in the 'best' condition at the moment - feeling quite dry and dull. Any help or advise would be very much appreciated. Thank you xxxx Sarah xxxxx

hi saree,

i work at sallys, and we sell something called l'oreal ineral optimal i believe, its in a small bottle and i can honestly say I have no idea what its for, there are no instructions or benefits written on the bottle..probably why we haven't sold any for the 18months i've been there, we must have about 20 bottles just sitting upstairs!

maybe ask your hairdresser how to go about using it? it seems very liquid-y so do you mix it with something? hth xx

Hi , I seem to remember these as restructerants of some kind ,
to pop on after washing and conditioning with loreal products , I think it also protects the hair from any heat too,

It would be far better for sales if they had full instuctions and it told you what the product actually does wouldnt it ? lol x  x

im not a hairdresser, however have used them a few times, and like yourself, i have highlighted hair which is quite dry and this treatment did make my hair alot smoothier and more managable after i had used it (applied to towel dryed hair after shampooing and conditoning), however the 'effect' didn't seem to last all that long... maybe if you were to use the treatments regularly you would have better results.... Just my penny!

Powerdose is similar to the keratase- It is a treatment that should be done every 4-6 weeks, and supported at home with stylist recommended products for your specific hair needs. To use, shampoo with appropriate shampoo, spray in powerdose massage through hair and scalp for 3-5 min, rinse and follow with appropriate masque again 3-5 minutes to lock in power dose, rinse and dry/style as usual. Home maintenance should be done with a shampoo, conditioner and weekly masque treatment as advised by your professional. PM me if you need more help.
