for all of you who make your own scrubs/masks etc. for use on clients do some of you have some tips/recipes you'd like to share??

I want to try to reduce my chemical exposure (even though I do l&p and gels) but would like to reduce it where I can and make my own natural products for use in my manicures and pedicures.

I currently use a line of products called 'Haken' but I recently placed and order and have to wait for product and I can't deal with supplier issues and need something that I will always have readily available.

I do exactly this - specialising in natural nails I have introduced organic spa products for mani's/pedi's.

I use LittleCote Soap Company as the basis for the fizz bomb soak/lotion for massage and make my own scrubs and masks using fruit powders from GraceFruit and strawberry seeds etc..

If you look at the Littlecote website there is a link to a book to make your own - I find it great fun and customers love it!

HTH!

I too make my own products for face/body & for manis/pedis.

If you look online, you will find a whole host of recipes for whatever product it is you want to make.

OR, make it even easier on yourself & find a supplier in the UK who makes all the products all ready for you to use.

Ah so simple google ones would be ok? I wanted to make sure there wasn't something special I should be using :)

Great to know others do it!

I live in the Caribbean :) there is someone who make stuff I'll try to ask her about bulk products :)

Ah, sorry, didn't look to see where you live!

Do some research on beneficial oils and butters and that type of thing. Macadamia oil is highly beneficial as well as olive and vitamin e. Pick ur fave and go at it! Experiment! I put green tea bags in my spa pedi water for antioxidants (a helper for antiaging and detoxing skin)

So do some research and play!!

I mentioned this once before, and no one replied ;) but for forewarned is forearmed.

ANY products that you buy and change in anyway, just by adding oils etc, needs to have certification. If this was to give anyone a rash etc, you are liable to a lawsuit.

btw, Gracefruits are brilliant :D (they also do the certification I believe)
