can someone tell me if the maximist xl and hv5008 are the same machine? if not what are the differences and which of the two are a better buy? thanks

They are effectively the same machine, but anything called a MaxiMist should be brown, and anything called a HV5008 should be black. Earlex make both machines but the brown one holds exclusive rights to the MaxiMist name.
The only noticable difference between the two machines is that the brown one's hose is thicker and shinier ("industrial grade"), but then as a down side, it doesn't have any clips to coil the hose neatly around the machine.

They are the same. The difference is that one has the clips to keep the hose neat and tidy during storage and transportation and the other doesn't.
They have the same motor so can both tan all day long, and have the same gun. No difference to use as tanners. :biggrin:

If I had to say one was better than the other, I'd say the MaxiMist just because it comes with a 2-year warranty (vrs one year) and has a stronger hose. But there's very little in it. For most people, it just comes down to colour preference.

The Maximist that is built in brown is only supplied to one company by earlex the smaller companies who do not buy in bulk. Buy the brown machine in small numbers from suntana, who have registered the name Maximist. And made a label for it. It is suntana who have put a 2 year warranty on the base units only. Not the spray guns, the manufacturer Earlex still only offer a 6 month warranty on the brown units. Or the black units, we also offer a 2 year warranty on the black 5008 turbine units that we buy in ourselves in bulk directly from the manufacturer.
