i just feel i need to post this thread there is so much confusion over the massive price difference of these machine s and i wouldnt want any one geting there fingers burned
THERE ARE 2 MACHINES WITH THE MAXIMIST NAME i have now downloaded 2 pictures of the machines to my public profile page
One is a hobby /student package suitable for 2 tans on the run for home/light useage
the other is the MAXIMIST stocked by NOUVATAN WOW FACTOR and SIENNA this machine will spray all day
The spray guns on both machines and nozzle sizes are identical as is the PSI
but the powerhouse is not comparable at all
BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE !!:evil: beware if an offer sounds to good to be true thats usually because it is

Is the other machine you are referring to called the maximist lite? or is there yet another machine!?!

How come there are different machines called the same thing?

xx

hiya the maximist lite will do 2-3 tans but need a break
the maximist plus/hv5008 will do tan parties and cope with demand

i've purchased the Maximist HV5008

hope this helps

some companies simply saying that you get the Maximist with their kit but they are only supplying the Maximist hobby machine
It is not dishonest as they are supplying a machine capable of the job called Maximist but
nobody is selling the real maximist for less than a hundred pounds as has been suggested in another post

yes they are

Whilst here I would like to add a bit of a different slant on the way this thread is heading.....

Firstly, whilst good intentions for the original posting are clearly there slating companies/products/equipment is not really the done thing on the boards...with good intentions or not:hug:

If we explore the issue of the equipment being discussed of course there is no comparison between the Maximist HV5008 and the lite as they are manufactured at two completely different price points...one (HV5008) is produced for professional use whereas the other is produced for low volume use .....both by the same manufacturer.

We have sold the lite to many start up businesses and to date only had one faulty machine which was replaced by the manufacturer without question...as we have had one faulty HV5008 machine which received the same level of replacement service by the manufacturer.....when it comes to high volume manufacturing there will always be equipment that has a manufacturers fault....what is important is how the manufacturer/supplier deals with the problem and how frequent are the production line faults.

Remember you generally tend to get what you pay for...when considering which machine to go for talk to your potential supplier and explain what it is your hoping your business will do..is it something that you wish to grow and anticipate high volume or is it something that is going to remain as a small part of your business...talk about available budget etc etc...any good supplier will endeavour to lead you in the right direction as to which machine suits both your needs as well as your budget.

Going back to some of the comments previously on this thread...all I can say is come on guy's buy something that is going to do the job...you wouldn't go buy a Mini and take it cross country now would you

On the other points raised...come on if you see buy 1 and get 16,000 items free...well there's something wrong isnt there....nothing wrong with a genuine special offer but come on buy 1 L solution, get a machine, tent and a pony free is well.....:wink2:

On the issue of the name Maximist being used for two different types of machines...well why not...its made by the same manufacturer...has the same gun however a different spec in terms of the power house and comes at two completely different price points and has a specific model name(Lite/HV5008)....no different to say a car manufacturer....say Ford who have a focus,Mondeo etc etc...all different models, designed for different purposes and at different price points but produced by one manufacturer...Ford.

It is a minefield out there so do ring around, ask as many questions as you can about the equipment and watch out for what appear to be to good to be true offers....after all..could you keep a pony in your 3rd floor luxury apartment...would play havoc with your white shag pile carpet:hug:

Why are some companies able to offer these kind of offers?
And what is going to be wrong? If these companies are offering the same machine as other companies surely its got to be just a great deal?!

Would the minimist lite be a good back up machine?
I have had to order a new machine as I melted mine (don't ask!), I got rid of my other back up a little while ago (stupidly!) so now I'm thinking of getting a back up in case I manage to melt the new one!!!!

xx

i must check the spray tan machine we have at work but it wil do as many tans as you want after another after another now bother, its even got a heat setting to make the air warm as it sprays your tan its great!!

it came with Vanity starter tan pack, booth, litre bottles of tan and al that

The reality is you get "naught for naught"...I know the solution mix ,quality and cost factor etc etc used by these companies that do ludicrous buy this and get 10x more free kind of stuff...and ..well given cost verses sale...they can afford to chuck in a pony...or two

Which Minimist are you referring to ..the Lite or the HV5008...obviously the HV5008 would be the best bet however that is really a primary machine where as the Lite would be a great little back up machine for emergency use and save you a bob or two

Just out of interest...how the heck are you managing to melt these machines...do you live somewhere in the tropics :hug:

I have a 5008 machine, or had until i melted it...my replacement should be here in the morning (fingers crossed or i'll have some unhappy clients!)

So I would be buying a minimist lite to be a back up machine.

I had my machine to close to a heater, seeing as the hose is so long and the gun comes off the hose I hadn't moved the machine all day (well, very little, probably just re-positioned it so that the next bit could melt!) It has affected the way the machine works and now it is very hit and miss so wanted to buy a new one as I dont want to risk it being unpredictable!!

As my husband pointed out - Only I could manage to do something as stupid as that!!!! doh!!

one of our reps did the exact same thing last week and melted the hose in 2 on her 5008
I think what collin is getting at with the(nowt for nowt) comments is that what may seem like a give away offer to good to be true usually is
I know how much quality spay tan solution costs to manufacture and i couldnt make enough profit on it to give away a machine on 3 litres,
If your just starting out in spray tanning then your going to be impressed with the equivalent of an asda smart price tan and if you carry on with it you will never know any better, but how long before your customers see someone out in another tan and decide to try something better?

Agreed...with newbies they have nothing to compare so are easily suckered into buying something that looks a good deal...and they get a free pony to ride at weekends :wink2:

Like with and manufactured product quality of ingredients have an overall effect on price....synthetic DHA brought in from China is far cheaper than quality pharmacy grade solution let alone any additional ingredients such as aloe Vera etc etc which all contribute to production costs....that's before starting to use certified organic ingredients which further hype up the cost of production.....nought for nought means exactly that....what you pay for is what you get in the bottle or equipment.

The more successful therapists are generally speaking the ones who invest wisely with the right equipment for there specific needs as a business(mobile, salon based,high/low volume through traffic) proper education/training which enables them to turn out a good tan and to select the correct DHA % relevant to the customers skin type and then of course its the solution itself as well as brand association...some brands attract customers through the door.

Its important to remember that each and every customer that gets a spray tan from you is a walking advertising board...if your technique is right and choice of solution etc etc they will get asked where they got a spray tan from and so referral business starts to follow.

Lots to consider and to get right but when you do success is more likely to follow

shouldn't this thread be made a sticky!
