Hi all I know medication can affect nail plates but i was wondering if anyone knew if anti convolution medicine affects the nail plate ?See my daugther loves having her nails polished but the nail polish comes away from the nail in one chunck and i am wondering if this could be to do with the medicine she is on ?

I am not sure what you mean by "anti-convolution medicine" do you mean "anticonvulsant"? If you let me know what the medication is, I might be able to help. A picture of the nail(s) would be useful as well.

Hi sorry for the spelling mistake it is an anti fitting drug called tegretol, sorry havent got a pic. x

I have never heard of this medication affecting the nails. However, that doesn't mean to say that it couldn't in your daughter's case. It is difficult to say any more without seeing the nails, so if you are concerned I would suggest you see a podiatrist.
I would take take the nail polish with you in case there is an ingredient in it that is causing the problem.
Hope that helps.

Hi Poshpinks

I was on this as a child and can say I had no problems with polish, but as said before see a poditrist also maybe ask the specialist you see regarding your daughters epilepsy as they may be able to answer the question.
