Hi

This may sound like a daft question!

I have my first guy booked in for a Manicure just wandering what procedure you would use? I am assuming you just do everything and miss out the polish?

Hello!
Yes, do everything except polish. Some guys will prefer a high-shine buff, others just want the nails smoothed out. Some guys will want a clear polish, some not. Just ask him what he would prefer and I'm sure he'll let you know. :)

Yes it is the same routine but when it comes to the hand and arm massage you can do this firmer as they prefer it that way,
buff the nails to finish or apply a clear matt polish hth

Same as Carmen and Lou have said. Just one other *ahem* "delicate" matter to be aware of. Massaging men can provoke involuntary "happenings" in the downstairs department if you know what I mean (In the client, not you!!!!:lol:). It doesnt mean that they're getting off on it or that they've booked the treatment for alterior motives, and if it does happen, pretend it hasnt, dont draw any attention to it. I know its only a manicure but it does happen, I speak from experience:lol:

Well they do say in times of financial worry you have to offer services that other salons dont in order to remain competitive:lol::lol:

To be honest I'm a cynical creature, I'd love to think it was my magnificent effleurage technique, but I'm more inclined to think that men are very primitive creatures, and something as simple as a soft touch from a laydeee, even if it is only on the hand and arm, starts things stirring without them even thinking about it.

I'd also choose a scrub and moisturiser that doesn't smell "girly". LOL

I agree a lot are this way and with some you only have to glance in there direction lol

Birch and mint from the scentsations range is ideal for a gents mani, and depending on preference some men love the smell of the solar range.

Also, if they are particularly hairy it might be uncomfortable for them as you'll be pulling the hairs - but that could take their minds off of something else!

It's the Birch and Mint scrub and moisturser I have for my Men's manis.

Although some men might want a colour. :) You can't go wrong if you ask.

Please do stay on topic...be polite...post constructively, respect others opinions and messages aimed at 1 person should be a PM :)

Men's manicures should be treated as womens, only much firmer.

If buffing, make sure they want a high shine first (some guys much prefer them matte).

And just like any other service with men.....if you are not sure, or don't feel safe or confident ...DON'T DO MEN AT ALL.
