Hi there has anyone tried a layer of gel or gel top coat over minx on nails to see if it lasts any longer. I was thinking of trying this but wondering if the gel would adeare to it? X

I haven't tried gel but I have used acrylic (I made minx tips) and they lasted quite a while. I did notice the acrylic lifting on the tip slightly because of the shiney minx. But this is hardly noticeable.

not tried gel, but have too tried acrylic and they are lasting quite well. my business partner, Jodie, is trialling them, its been 10 days, she has battered them , she is a nail and beauty therapist, mum of 3 kids and has a love of cleaning (she'd kill me if she read this!)
and they are doing very very well. If Jodie cant kill them, no-one will!

I usd perma gloss over minx and it didnt budge. Took it off after three weeks but it could have lasted longer, I just wanted something different.

Hi there Debs
Where do you get the perma gloss from?
Thanks for the info ladies I was hopeing gel would work but may try the acrylic aswell to see which lasts the longest.

The perma gloss is NSI, it is a gel top coat so you could maybe try one you already have first.

Thanks Debs I will have a go with mine first XX

is perma gloss the same as glaze and go ?

Its still a gel topcoat but its thicker, you have to cure it for longer and it has a tacky layer to wipe off at the end. I love glaze n go for most things, but permagloss over polish with enhancements is fab.

Hi Debs
Im new to the site and have been reading all the threads on minx as i am still having real trouble with them on fingers, have not done them on any clients as yet only on family as they keep lifting at the free edge, have gone through all the stages even been back to the trainer of the course so she could check what i was doing, but still having problems, was wondering if the perma gloss you used was on fingers. Have had them on my toes for 5 weeks and they still look fab, but i am getting really disheartened with the fingers now.
