Violet is the only shade that is complementary on pale skin. I cannot use green on pale skin it turns pale skin orange.
If you look at the colour wheel it makes sense.

Hi, I'm just quoting what I was told in my training with Moroccan Tan, and experience with clients :) in the manual, it's explained like this (picture). But of course, everyone is different! :)

I've never had orange hands with MT! I actually find the hands look paler sometimes if I'm not careful especially on myself lol. Have you tried using morrocan butter as a barrier cream? I find it's really good at stopping orange patches
 
I've never been orange with Moroccan tan either, it's people who have no idea what they're doing that give tanning a bad name.

It's not good for us professionals cause it's harder to get clients.
I just use whitetobrown barrier cream it works perfectly but obviously you have to know what you are doing to avoid orange hands and patchy tan!
