yes, you have the right idea there.
try to roll the acrylic when its a tiny bit softer and more flexible and crimp it together a bit more at the base. this will help it have a softer, more realistic appearance.

Thank you. I used to making flowers out of icing sugar which was slightly easier!!!!
This one is a bit big. I let it set too hard the first time and too soft the second, it ended up a sticky mess! But I will keep trying, I love doing this sort of stuff, I could spend all day doing it.
