ive been asked if i would be interested in having a "nail art" stall at my daughters xmas fete
im quite happy to oblige, anything to get my name and business cards out there! and its only costing £10 plus a small donation to their raffle so not too bad
although i have only recently trained, im quite happy with my work .. plus have have several weeks to practice before the big day
would just love to hear peoples experiences re above, what they charge, popular designs and colours, if they get repeat business etc etc
many thanks as always, blush x

i did a fete in summer, you have to work quick so keep your ideas simple either stickers or just paint flicks and dont take to much choice in polish colours or you will be there all day while they decide lol, it is good fun though x

hi
funny you answered my post, i was planning to place an order with you for supplies .. small world!
can i ask how much you charged per child, did you do art on cpl of nails or all .. was thinking of offering 2 choices - stickers, simple designs etc on all nails or painted nails with more detailed work on the thumbs - do you think this would work
also, can i ask what polish you use? i have invested some opi which im happy with, but cant afford to add more colours in that particular line
many thanks

A Friend of mine recently did this at her childs schools summer fair.

She did 2 designs you could choose from, pink nails with white hand painted daisies, or white nails with black paw prints, very simple and quick to do and it went down a storm with the little ones. I think she charged £3/4 per child.

hi emily
thanks for that
i guess the less choice the better, lol
perhaps i can offer 5 simple designs and just have some examples of designs i can produce for party bookings
many thanks x

I charged £1 a set and painted all nails and added flicks to each or stickers to thumb and middle finger, I use orly polish and took about 6 colours but found that i only used 2 amythest decadence and sapphire luck they are glittery and pink and purple what more could a girl want plus i only needed one coat, be prepared to paint mums nails to as i did lots of mums aswell, why dont you try some of the minatures if money is tight x i have pm'd you about order

I just wondered, do you file, do base coat, colour and topcoat when doing such an event? or just paint and go so to speak?
Thinking of doing something similar myself and concerned about time? Also with regards to sanitation would you just get the children to rub their hands with a sanitizing gel?
Thank you xxx

i just used sanitizer gel and used a coat of polish and a coat of topcoat i did not file but had to take off loads of nail polish from the kids in the line got to the point where i was looking down the line and getting someone to take there polish off before they got to me as otherwise by the time they got to me and i had to do it the line was getting huge x
