hi

I did a client's pedicure with a nail jewel on each big toe nail. that was tues and they're off already!!

i place jewel over second coat of polish then seal with top coat

any advice - have another client booked for tonight and they're going on holiday so would be rubbish if they didn't stay??

thanks

It could be that the client wore shoes too quickly.

My experience is that when you use polish to secure the gems is that they can take literally hours and hours to dry fully! Some top coats are better than others with these too - they best one I found for gems and jewels was a cheap one from Sallys, but it isnt one I would use over a normal polish manicure.

If you are worried you could use a nail adhesive to secure the gems onto the nail once the polish is dry, but are then harder to get off.

Hi

I use a nail resin by EzFlow. Beleive me once they are on, they are not coming off !!!!

I use gelbond, still on 2 weeks later when I re-balance.

I agree with the above. If clients want gems with manicures/pedicures, position the gem with a teeny weeny dot of nail resin. It sets almost instantly. Then apply top coat or better still a top coat specifically designed for nail art.

I secure it quite wet polish (almost immediately after the polish).

I never coat the stone (as the topcoat rounds off the facets which reflect light) and make a beautiful stone look like a bit of smashed windscreen coated in plastic).

I apply a topcoat "around", but not "over" a stone.

I suppose it depends on if you like (and can recognise diamonds from chunks of glass/plastic).

I have used Glaze n Go, placed the gem into the layer and then cured under UV lamp. Its worked so far but wondering if this is really a good idea, what other geeks think?
