hi guys,
I do Acrylic and Gel nails but i do prefer Acrylic nails.
A few of my clients say that they love Acrylic but like the finish of Gel as its so shiny and always looks freshly top coated.
Have any of you ever done a set of Acrylic and then done a U.V top coat or colour?

I do this all the time in the salon, it saves loads of time on the buffing,
prep
apply L&P
refine shape
wipe dust off with scrubfresh
apply top gloss (i use glaze & go)
take payment
all done and dusted

I like to buff up my L&P I like the result a little elbow grease gives you:lol:
I do however apply UV Finishing Gloss from CND if they are going on holiday or are after a very shiny finish.
You need to make sure you have buffed the surface of the L&P so the topcoat adheres properly.

i always use a u.v gel topcoat.
my personal favourite is lechat protech.
most companies have an equivalent product.
all the lechat gel colours can go on to a l/p acrylic nail too.
they require a surface buffed to a 180 grit so that they adhere well and you will get alovely smooth finish.

thanks for that, i prefer the look after Acylic to when its really buffed, but its different strokes for different folks!
x

I do both, either a buff or gel coat......

I use NSI permagloss. Gives a lovely smooth glossy finish and my clients love it. You need a UV lamp with this product though.:)
