Over 200 athletes from around the world sported the CND Shellac Power Polish manicure courtesy of professional UK beauty distributor, Sweet Squared. No less that 25 CND Education Ambassadors offered complimentary treatments to athletes in the Rowing, Sailing and Canoeing Villages. Needless to say, the 14 day, long-lasting, power polish survived two weeks of intense sport and competition.

"Nail art was everywhere in London this summer, serving as an expressional of athletes personal style and adding a splash of glamour to the competition," says co-founder of CND, Jan Arnold. "We are delighted so many athletes had the opportunity to receive a well-deserved CND Shellac manicure by Sweet Squared's top nail technicians, who collectively spent and incredible 200 hours providing manis and pedis throughout the two weeks."

Stats & Facts
  • 203 athletes received CND Shellac services
  • 200+ hours spent providing manicures and pedicures to athletes
  • 216 bottles of CND Shellac and 588 bottles of CND Solar Oil used over two weeks
  • CND Shellac Rockstar named most popular manicure which combines CND Shellac with glitter for a show-stopping look
  • CND Education Ambassador's favourite memory: giving many athletes (including male athletes) their first ever manicure

Complimentary CND Shellac services will also be available to athletes at the Paralympics between August 29th and September 9th courtesy of Sweet Squared and CND Education Ambassadors.

To follow all the CND Shellac action check out the CND Facebook page, the Sweet Squared Facebook page and follow @CNDWorld and @SweetSquared on Twitter.

Until then...geek on.

Have I misunderstood......just under 1 hour per treatment but that sounds like just over a bottle of Shellac for each athlete????

Maybe a complimentary one each to take away & encourage good aftercare? x

Well done CND.

Fantastic to see it's being offered at the Paralympics too, all too often these courageous people get forgotten.

Hats off to CND.

Clients don't take bottles of Shellac home it is only used by us professionals.

203 people done - approx 10 sets a bottle would only use up 20 bottles of Shellac, not 216?????

I think she meant solar oil to take home!!

And I thought you got 20 sets from each bottle?

Maybe shellac was provided to other members of the Olympic events that were not athletes. There would be a huge amount of staff, volunteers, trainers etc that could have had a shellac service. There is also the possibilty of fingers AND toes being shellaced :)

Your right I asked the Ed if it was correct & it was manicures & pedicures & some more than once.

Wow,so 216 bottles x 20 applications per bottle = 4,320 sets of Shellac

What a fantastic advert for Shellac.:)

It was a stellar effort by a stellar team and they worked flat out all day every day AND had a ball !!

It was the most amazing happy atmosphere ... The athletes adored it. The figures add up to me.

Shellac was the word on everyone's lips as well as toes and fingers. It was an amazing advert for all of YOU technicians using Shellac. The ultimate goal for all PR. We should all be saying a huge thank you to the lovely EA's who represented you all so well and in an exemplary way. Everything done the way it should be done. Thumbs up!
