Natural nails under l&p

sorry if this is a stupid question but im guna ask anyway...
if the clients has no preference is it better to keep their natural nail long under the enhancement so that there is a larger bond beterrn natural nail and acrylic, leaving a lower percentage of the nail just bonded to the tip with glue???
im not sure how to word it so this makes sense so i hope someone understands me! LOL

or should i file the natural nail short so that it cant be seen from the under side? (which looks ugly!)
 
If the client's nails are long and they want to keep the same length I would do an overlay and not cut the natural nail. If the client wanted her nails extended then I would shorten them down a bit. I hope this answers your question. :)
