Hi ya new here so hello!!!

OK im a mummy of 2 little ones and a registered childminder currently doing driving lesson but im looking in to beauty, as i want a change of scean!

My idea i have is this.... pass my driving and then study a course in nail extensions, manicure, false eye lashes, and hair extensions on a mobile biz! so basically as soon as i can drive i wanna do these types of courses so i can still be self employed and work mobile!

so i need your help, i live south east london but dont mind traveling a little around london, an i want your thoughts on the best place to go on a nail extension course. I have done a search on google and it shows you loads of 1-5 day courses ranging from £300 and £500 a time... but i have no idea which is ideal and best for money. At the end of the day not only do i want to learn the best application possible but would like a recognisable certificate tooo.

can ou give me a pointer in the right direction to the best company which offer short courses and a recognisable qualification? thanks soo much1!!!

The best company who gives the best training and is most highly recognised is Creative nail design,
they have won numerous awards for their training,
i think in your area you would have Mr Keaton Patel as your trainer and he is fab, if you give Creative a call on 0845 210 6060 they will give you all the details and answer any questions that you may have,
hope that helps you hun

Hello thank you so much for your advice i have emailed them and hope to hear something in reply soon.

Can i just ask... i have seen the nail extension courses from these companys which also offer a qualification but are they any good?? does any one know.?

Thanks again for all ya help..

Cant wait to actually get started and doing this!

We can't say bad things about courses here on the site ... not very professional of us.

You have been given a recommendation to the Creative Nail Academy ... the only company to have ever won, not one but 2, awards for the best nail training in the UK .. they also use the best products.
Recommendation and reputation are the two best ways to get advice, which is what you have asked for.

Further info can be obtained by doing a search on education on the site. Click on search and put in education.

There are also articles in the articles section about how to choose the right training.

Why not get it "Right From the Start". Creative have the awards and the rep to prove it is the right move.

Hi there jellybean,

My advise would be to do a basic course in manicure and pedicure or even a basic Beauty Therapy course before you go head first into doing nail extensions. This will give you a basic knowledge of both the practical and theory side of nails, it will also give you a wider variety of services you can offer your clients as a mobile therapist. Just doing a nail extension course won't teach you how to carry out a basic manicure or pedicure nor will you have certification for them thus leaving you with insurance issues should any problems arise! By doing a basic beauty course you should learn lash applications, brow shaping, lash and brow tinting, waxing, facial, make up and massage. I'm in Ireland and there is a huge market for the mobile therapist especially for weddings, graduations etc. you can build up a fantastic business by just doing the basics. Here nails a more a salon thing as people like to get away from home but if your willing to work in the evenings you could set up from home and again thats a goldmine! The more services you offer the more customers you will have! The best thing to do is visit local reputable salons and speak to a therapists about the courses they have done, that way you will find out which course carry a good salon name and which dont. You could do the same for your hair extensions!

I can only refer to CND as that is who I am trained with but with regard to them you are wrong. The CND Foundation course teaches you basic manicure skills and there is a further course to learn how their products work. Good enhancement training teaches you all that a college course can do.

:eek:It was only a suggestion as it may help as a mobile therapist to have more services to offer than just nails! If your course provides the basics for manicure then its perfect as a foundation to gels etc

hi guys, thanks for all your replys, i have phoned both cnd and nsi to enquire about courses... all of beginners are approx £700 or just under. are payable in two instalments one as a deposit when booking and the other on first day of training. Both include kit, exam, certificate as well as your training.

So i am weighing up which is the better of the two??? are both certificates the same do you know?? is one known better than ther other??

Both are sending me info in the post which i should recieve by tomorrow as sent yesterday and im hoping to book onto a course with in next fe weeks... so all your thoughts and advice will help decided which one to go for.

Do you learn the same with either ??? or are there different things with each?? whos kit is better quality? and can you advise me for what you get from each in your kit?? thanks so much for taking your time to reply!

louisa
