I'm new to the nail industry and just started out mobile. I have a lady who has weekly luxury manicures with paraffin wax treatment and her friend is also interested.

She has psoriasis under her nails only and oesteoporosis. She also has an autoimmune system. I'd never heard of this before and found this link:

Autoimmune Disorders

She has previously had nail enhancements once when the psoriasis was under 1 nail only. Since then, it has developed under all and can be very painful. She said that they lift up in the sunlight. Some are held on by a fraction at the base of the nail, and many have separated and are white underneath.

Could anyone recommend what treatments I can offer? I was thinking regular manicures with light buffing and a ridge filler nail polish would suit the client better. I don't want to risk aggrevating her condition more by applying enhancements. x

Hi there hunny - my Mum has horrendous psoriosis under all her toe nails and on the soles of her feet.
It can be very painful but as long as theres no skin broken u can treat!
Theres a few different types of psoriosis but basically the skin cells overproduce and what happens with my mums toe nails is the build up of cells accumalate underneath the nails.
Her nails are very pitted and her big toe nails sometimes look as if they're about to come off!
I use an exfoliating treatment to slough off the built up cells and use CND spa manicure(even though its for her feet) so that would be great for your lady.
I also overlay Mums toes with a clear acrylic to cosmetically improve them and give a smooth surface to polish.I've also made complete nails when theyve come off.If youre unsure of anything though ask your client to get the ok from her doctor before you do anything - just to be safe
Hope that is of some help - fire away if you want to ask anything else I'll try my best to help you out!
Talk soon
