I've just hibernated for about 5 days to do a new site to promote the courses that I do.

would you be so kind to take a gander.

I know their are a few mistakes, and I'm not totally happy with it, especially the course diary page (the things keep moving around without my permission! LOL).

I intend adding more pictures to it as I go along, and think its about time I walked away from the 'puter, brushed my teeth, and joined the land of the living.

grrrrrrrrrr! just taken a look and things have started shifting again.

will need to take pen and paper and jot down all the mistakes.

Typo on the left-hand menu bar, should read "Accredited courses" (with only one "t" - it's currently spelled with two)...

You've also got an "Empty" link at the bottom of the left hand menu bar, which just displays a blank page...

On the Links page, you've got a text link to "Makem Beauty", but I think it should be spelled "Mackem Beauty" (as that's how it's spelled on the graphic below).

Have just tested the email contact form using a valid email address, and I get the following error when the "captcha" text is not entered correctly:

"There has been a problem - Sorry, this email address does not appear to exist or is invalid. Your email has not been sent."

Whereas it would be more meaningful if it said something like "Please make sure that you have correctly entered the anti-spam code shown in the image".

On the "Course Diary" page, the "Date 1", "Date 2" and "Date 3" headings are not lining up correctly. I think they should be in the same box as where it says "COURSE TITLE"; but they are below that, and are skewed one column to the left from where they should be.

The font for the text on the "Lomi Lomi Massage" page is slightly larger than the font used on the other pages.

Sorry, I *am* nit picky! It's a fab looking site, and it almost feels churlish to nit pick to that extent!

On the "Welcome" page, when viewed in Internet Explorer 7, the bottom of the animated text near the top of the page is being chopped off (shown circled in pink below):

hi hun it looks brill  something i spotted was on the course listing page if you go down some of the 2 day courses , have the payment amount for a 1 day , ie instead of saying £250 it says £124.50
other than that it looks brill xxxxx

The same problem with the animated text being chopped off is also happening on the "Online Shop" page.

And on the "Booking and Attending" page there is a Google Maps error:

Can't find anything else (apart from another "accreditted" [sic] with the extra "t" in the text of the Accredited Courses page as opposed to the navigation menu) - hope you don't mind me being so nit picky on what is overall a very nice looking and very comprehensive site! Well done, I bet you're chuffed with it!

Anyway, now to cook some tea, I'm getting hungry...

Oops, one final nit pick before I cook...

On the Accredited Courses page, you've got a guild membership at the bottom, which looks as though it's being displayed at a larger pixel size than the actual image.

The original image is 400 pixels wide by 175 pixels high:

membership(1).jpg

On the Accredited Courses page, it's being displayed at 489 pixels wide by 214 pixels high, so the web browser is having to resize the image; web browsers are notoriously bad at resizing images and give a pixellated look to the resized image which is a bit hard to read:

Whereas resizing the pic in a graphics package, e.g. IrfanView, IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide to the size required on the page, and applying some sharpening to the image too, will give a much clearer image (as below - please feel free to steal and use on your site)...

Now, I really *must* cook lol...

It's looking fab Ann

Ruth's technical abilities are way beyond me, she is fab isn't she.

thanks so much, I really appreciate it, AND its not nit-picking, its being constructive.

Sometimes, when you are working on something for so long, you can't see the wood for the trees!

the booking page has gone completely because I tried adding a google map to it and now it won't show any of the work that I have done on it, which was a comprehensive Qu & Ans section.

The diary page is doing my nut in, when I'm working on it, the day 1, day 2 and day 3 are in their proper columns, but the minute I put it into live it goes all skeewif!

Thanks for the spellcheck with accreditted, (see I've still probably got it wrong LOL).

The fonts sometimes change size without me doing it, I think its because I copied and pasted some of it.

The moving banner seems to work well on firefox but not on internet explorer, I don't know how to rectify that tbh.

Thanks for the price check too.

Sometimes its easier to delete the page and start afresh, so may well do that with the diary.

The guild pic, will change the size too, think I tried to enlarge it, but your right, it doesn't look right.

Hope you had a nice tea, and would love more feedback.

Right I'll have a look at the HTML in a sec for the moving banner thingy; like I said with the guild pic, if you snaffle the one that I have resized, then that will look fine - and it will be at the same size that you want it on the page now...

that one is because I started adding a retail online shop but it didn't save so therefore came up blank.

thanks Ruth.
I was given the html code to do it, but I decided to change the font and the colour, do you think that messed it up?

Aagh, that moving text thingy uses a Marquee tag, Marquee tag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - am surprised that Mr Site lets you do that, as the Marquee tag is very non-standard and the W3C hate it!

However, on the plus side, I'm impressed that your site is using JQuery by the look of it; JQuery being my favourite Javascript library of all time, as it is very lightweight, browser-compatible and versatile; in fact I'm pretty sure there's a way of doing that moving text thing with JQuery (I'm doing something similar on my Ruth Mills - Transvestite, Fetish and Bodypainting Model site but with moving images instead of text) - but I'd be hard pressed how to figure out how to make it work with Mr Site!

Actually, so saying, try this link - jScroller for jQuery by Markus Bordihn - I think that's the code that I've used for the moving images on the front page of my naughtygirl site... if you can get that to work with your existing page, it will be a lot nicer than the <marquee> tag... and you could even do fancy things like having images move as well as the text...
