Hi guys,

I have spent literally hours researching spray tannings systems and trialing samples. (which sometimes is a little pointless by hand just not same result)

I was tossing up between Sienna X and Urban Tan, Sienna definately has a better all round marketing package but wanted to go paraben free... hence Urban Tan... did like the fact you had four tan shades and could use 6 scents...

THEN came across Beau Bronz and have read alot about Tantrick too?

I am completely saturated with it all now..... so i have come to stand still!!

I am going mobile so product image is quite important to me.. most of my customers are teenagers and young twenties..

I want a long lasting tan for the customer
Choice of shades (more than 2 preferably)
Paraben free and natural as possible
Really good strong brand image with lots of marketing material
Scented.. preferably but not essential
Training must be provided (and good! trained for nails not this..)
Preferably start up basics around £500 - £700

Help... please.... advice and feelings from pros please!

There are many companies out there that can give you what you are looking for within the budget you have available.

Unfortunately you have to do a lot of leg work to find the brand that fits and meets your requirements exactly.

Keep looking and asking...getting the right provider is worth the effort

Hiya, I use Fake Bake and am really happy with their products and service and get lots of repeat business - i was also trained with Fake Bake, had a great time and came away feeling 100% ready to rock & roll. You might be better off calling Fake Bake directly to discuss things - 0870 054 4455. Good luck with whichever product range and training you go for xx

When you are wanting to add a professional service to your skills i would always say no to products that your future clients can buy over the counter in regular shops as this reduces the amount of clients that will pay for your service,
st tropez and fake bake can both be bought in regular shops by anyone, hth

Hiya, but they can't buy an expertly applied fabulous Fake Bake spray tan over the counter in a shop, and bringing the great range of Fake Bake products to clients' homes saves them time in traipsing round the shops and money in p&p charges on t'internet xx

Clients are more than willing to go on the net to buy their products if they can get them cheaper, this is what has happened with many a skincare range with shopping channels and the net.

Actually you have a point there.... saw on Beau Bronz site they were on shopping channel i think QVC... sort of put me off really!!!

Something that 'seems' to be only professionally obtained is good idea.... a bonus...!

Does the lack of parabens in some products mean the tan doesn't last as long?

I think its more to do with shelf life than how it lasts on the skin.
Its just the buzz word of the moment anyway, if its not parabens it'll be something else.
A solution will have to have a preservative in it of some kind.
I think Tantrick are now making their solutions without parabens certainly their latest ... max, doesnt have any because i have read the ingredients.

Parabens are simply the new buzz word that everyone has latched onto.
The % content that is present in most solutions that contains parabens is so minute that there really is no danger whatsoever.

We have now switched over to paraben free solutions across our entire range...simply to be seen as being green kind of thing and from a marketing perspective.

contacted them myself today but girl on phone said i would have to go there for training? Lou has said on another thread that they can come out?? hat would affect my decision because not keen on driving miles away get nervous...

Most of our trainers are willing to come out to you if you cover their traveling expenses,
if you look on the trainers map and click on your nearest trainer it gives you details on their profile if they will come out to you,
hth

I'm in Bristol and did Sienna very pleased with the colour. I chose 8.5 and 10 it's fab. I get no complaints these days.

I use Tan Addict, like you i wanted something that was as natural as possible. It has Natural Ingredients no parabens or alcohol, vitamins, aloe vera and an antioxidant complex. A paraben is used to preserve a product but there are alternatives. This solution has aloe in it as well so it moisturises from the start which means no flakiness or patches as the tan starts to fade. I used to use Xen Tan, St Tropez, sun labs and LA Tan, whatever the customer preferred really, i spray in a salon anything from 25 - 50 tans per week and i have used Tan Addict now for about a year and i would say 90% of my customers prefer Tan Addict. It also smells lovely - coconut. They do from 8 to 16%. I use 10 and ocassionally 12. You can train and get marketing material from them as well. They are at the Beauty Midlands show this year, next week, and i am going to stock up on the cheap deals. You can get samples on their site - www.spray-tanz.co.uk. hope this helps.

Could be wrong, but it sounds like a react cosmetics product (possibly Celebrity Secrets) but under another name.
