Hiya

It's fantastic to get training from various PMU training academys
But remember one thing..many insurance companys will only support a case that ends up in court if you have been advised by your training school do work in this way
If you have been shown various techniques/ways and use mix & match products they may question you and not insure you(not worth shopping around)do your research and stick with them.

It's fantastic that PMU techs do own PMU make-up...go easy on this one
If you do not hold your handpiece/needle piont in the correct position(this can result in what PMU techs call bleeding of the pigment at a later date)
this means that your tattooed enhancedment will not look its best later on
the pigment can spread and lines can appear wonky looking.

go easy and hold the needle in the correct position that you were trained to do so

good luck
you brave things

Hi, I'm hoping some of you may be able to shed some light on a query I have. I am about to start training in Permanent make up and Paramedical also. I have the chance to go to Canada this year and have just received my visa. I am hoping to train there (its much less expensive due to exchange rates!) and hear that Biotouch are the people to go with. Their work looks impressive, I must say! (I am just looking at the leading pics from their website, so I guess the best are on display! The "Feathering" eyebrows look amazing though, I have had my own done twice now and have seen MANY portfolios) My main concern with getting trained overseas is that of Insurance cover and how to get it when I return. Has anybody trained with Biotouch and managed to obtain insurance in the UK or Ireland afterwards (they say they have trained students from every corner of the globe!). Im based in Ireland. I qualified as a holistic therapist 6 months ago with CIBTAC. My background is in design and I would love to combine all my experience and feel this path is perfect for me. ANY information would be greatly appreciated. My funds are limited and I'm hoping to really make a go of this. I did enquire with courses offered in the UK, but am unable to afford them right now.
As a side note, I mentioned I had my own eyebrows worked on twice now, the first was a disaster and took 5 years to fade out. I am FAIR...they looked like someone had attacked me with a BLACK permanent marker for a laugh. I did get hairstrokes, which took the technician 3 hours to apply!!! After healing, they all bleed into each other and looked like the block eyebrow! I returned a few weeks later and she applies white lines in between to break them up...this was also a disaster...the lines were practically vertical, I looked like a zebra, haha, I may laugh at it now, but at the time, I was so upset. I had to look at these everyday for years and covered them up with thick concealer and drew on eyebrows! I have since had them fixed 6 months ago, ( no technician would go near them until they had faded sufficiently ) The girl who worked on them trained with Finishing Touches and did a beautiful job, really knew her work and explained EXACTLY why I had gotten the previous result and where the technician went wrong.
My point being here...it pays to look around and I am therefore trying to do this before I spend thousands of hard earned cash on my training.
Hope to hear from anyone soon...xoxo

I was a model for my friend too. In the U.S the class is about $3,000 and the license is $100. I have to tell you I love my eyebrows.. I went from having eyebrows with patches to eyebrows that look good all the time. Everyone notices a difference in my face. My eyes look brighter.. It just does so much for your appearance. While the class is expensive I am sure my friend will make the money back quickly.. She charges $250 for eyebrows, $150 for lip liner, $ 100 for eye liner and $25 for a beauty mark.
anyone considering doing I suggest taking before and after pictures.. You will be amazed!!

Thanks to Brow Queen for your advice! It' s great to read so much about this while I'm thinking about having them done and I sent off an e-mail to Karen Betts asking if she has a clinic in or around Manchester and await her response.

The lady I am actually thinking of booking with is Jane Haralambos, her portfolio looks great and theres a pair of eyebrows there I can virtually see myself with! Just wondering if anyone has heard about Jane?

Thanks for all your help xx
Hi, I had my brows done by Nilam Patel who is a trainer for Nouveau, she used to work in Miami and was Jlo personal brow specialist! She was fantastic the shape and precision was unbelievable. She usually goes to all the shows and offers discount to have them done their and then. Phone Nouveau and see if they are at Excel or the show up North. May help you out with the cost.

I trained with Finishing touches and yes, they are brilliant.

If I were you, I would contact the main insurance companies in the country you want to work with. If you can't get insured then it will be a complete waste of money. Good luck. xx
