There was actually an article in nails magazine a good few years back about a tech who did this somewhere in America. She ended up badly burnt because when she opened the microwave it exploded.:Scared:

Nooo way that is horrible. What an idiot. How could somebody think thats ok?
 
It's the un educated muppets out there that give our good products bad reps :-(
Really it's not the DIY-ers we need to worry about its these cut corner techs out there!
 
Wow acetone and microwave!!!! I'm surprised it didn't blow up!
This is the problem with people buying things off eBay ect, with no training.
They teach themselves and end. Up damaging people's nails ( or blowing themselves up) and giving amazing products bad names.X
 
It is indeed awful how others may sometimes choose to remove products in both unprofessional and dangerous ways.

As Salon Geek is a site for Professionals however, we would always recommend product removal in accordance with the correct procedures and instructions given by training, the authorised distributors and manufacturers.
