Hi hun, I've looked on your profile and you've not said who you trained with, it's so difficult to know how to help you with out knowing who and what you've trained with. please fill it all in for us thank you x

i trained using nsi balance and still use it. I went to a certified school and learned. i dont wish to say whom incase my application is at fault and dont want to damage their rep. i know it can take along time to perfect the art of extensions

Hi there and welcome!

It sounds as if you are maybe just not consistent enough with your prep. Some nails need a little more work that others and experience will help you in time. For now do the very best job you can on your prep on every single nail. Just think that you need a bare nail, free of all excess dead skin and oils, make sure you clean any cuticle remover that you use off the nails, every nail remember. You should see a difference. If you have some nails staying on then you are doing something right, all you have to do is do the other nails the same. Prep seems to be the boring bit but trust me it is just as, if not more, important than the application of your product! :D

youve made a good point, i wonder if whem i dehydrate im not spending enough time on each nail. thank you for the advice. i learned acrylics too but have given up as i struggle with consistency and they seem to break after a few says (thank goodness havnt used on a paying client!)

im also trained through NSI and if im honest i find it quite lifty too, i spend a good 30mins on prep and i NO im prep'in proper!!
I also find the clear is worse that any others, i never get lifting using the masques

its the clear i have trouble with too. also when i do a white tip it can seem to bleed when curing - too much product?

I've never used gel, I'm a L&P tech and I love the NSI Attraction, no problems with lifting and I am a lift pron client myself, on my first finger nails only.
But, while I was at the NEC in April I had a gel nail done on my first finger and yep, lifting about 4 days later.
The only way I avoid lifting on that finger is when I use CND's scrub fresh and then NSI's dehydrator during prep.
The only other thing that comes to mind is that maybe on some of the nails your product is spreading a bit to far and coming into contact with the skin?
Do you do all 5 fingers before you cure or do you do 2 fingers at a time, as I said I'm not a gel tech, but I do read a lot:o and a lot of the gel techs get rid of problems like, not building an apex by working on 2 nails and fixing them with a 10 second blast in the uv light. before moving on to the next stage.

hi

I have experienced the same thing, however not with gel, and use nsi for both systems

There are a number of causes for lifting, besides improper prep:

  • Applying product too thin
  • Applying product too close to the cuticle or sidewalls
  • Using a mix ratio that is either too wet or too dry (follow manufacturer’s instructions for the proper mix ratio and remember to regulate the temperature in your salon as this can affect your mix ratio and setting time)
  • Creating enhancements that are too long (this can put added downward pressure on the extension and in some cases, may cause lifting)
  • Not using complete systems (it is best to work within a product system to ensure the best compatibility and ultimately the best results)
If you PM me your e-mail address, I can put you in touch with an Educator who can troubleshoot further with you to figure out what your specific issue(s) may be.

NSI is the one buff off gel that I love as I find it the least likely to lift out of all the buff offs! Don't give up on it, it's a good product.

Thankyou very much Jesse, i dont want to give up with NSI as i really like using them. I'm sure it is down to my lack of exerience!

have you got the balance gel dvd ? I had troubles at first with more with breaking than lifting ( I have trained with them ! ) but after I studied the dvd it all fell into place now I LOVE it !

No i havnt will try and get one! thanks for the tip x

Stick with it, I am having no lifting issues at all with NSI gel and have converted nearly every L&P client I had to it. I had a few lifting issues with NSI acrylic so started doing more gels til I conquered the problem. Now everyone loves it but noone in a rush to go back to acrylic now Ive conequered the lifting problem it as they love the gels. x

IMO NSI are one of the premier Nail Suppliers and I swear by the products. I use acrylic more so now than gel, but I am always pleased with the way the products work on application and the longevity also. Its easy to blame a brand when things go wrong but it takes such a long time to really master the art of enhancements that there will be many knockbacks long the way with problems and doubting your techniques but stick in there and one day it will come as easy as brushing your teeth.

xx
