Hi im doing my nail science assessment, and just wondering what the development of onychorrexis is. does it grow out with the nail plate as that grows or what?
is it contagious, or is there a potential for cross infection.
and is it a contra-indication..?

Onychorrexis is a condition.. split or brittle nails.
can be caused by injury, improper filing, or exposure to harsh chemicals.
the Signs are thin, splitting nails.
recomended Treatmentswould be to soften nails before trimming, recommend client use daily moisturizers and use rubber gloves when hands are exposed to water or chemicals.

Clients with nail conditions have minor irregularities, which allow them to receive nail services.

mmmmm, 2 questions wanting people to do your homework for you.
If your tutor is any good, they will show you where to study and where to find information, usually based on information they have already given you.
You are supposed to do assignments yourself.

Carl is correct. This site may help you to find the answers but we are not here to do homework assignments for students. Use the INTERNET. If you have time to come here and post questions you can google it. I googed it just to see and sure enough the info you want is there for YOU to research yourself and take notes. This is the way we all learned.

i agree, after the second question i did ask about research books.. but i also did the tafe course she is doing and know just how.. broad.. it can be.. she is 18 and is learning.. so kudo's for that!

i would reccomend splashing out on some good reference books.. they are invaluable for your career.. and while you may not always have the internet.. you will always have your books

=)

When I started, I bought my reference books from Amazon. One of those buy 2 for x amount and free postage jobs.

Although there are answers in the course paperwork and what you learn in class sometimes its nice to have input from those who practice it or to have another resource to look it up.

well sorry my teacher hasnt given us any information on this and that i dont even know what im looking for on the internet. sure i find heaps of information on what the disease or disorder is but i never find out if it is a contraindication and very rarely find what happens as the disease/disorder progresses. but hey. sorry for wasting your time. thought some professionals might be able to help me. whatever.

If you bothered to notice i did help you.. twice actually.. simple thank you would have been nice..:green:

Probably not the best attitude to have, you are going to find lots of people as you go along with different points of view.. take it on board and use it.. we are here to help but we wont actually do it for you..

if you understand what a contraindication is then you may have a better chance at working out if the disease or disorder is one..

good luck, i really do hope you stick at it, but don't get overly upset with the people trying to help you.. we all have different ways of doing it.
