anyone used OPI liquid powder products someone mentioned earlier to me they were good, im using salon system at the mo and its crap any advice appreciated x

I don't want to trash another line, but have you tried Entity or Creative?

no i havent im fairly new but to be honest im not very confident so i dont do many ive heard opi is easy to use i.e you dontspill over on to the nail as the salon system is quite runny no matter how hard i try to mix it right

Check out the "product control" tutorial. It has some really good info on product consistancy.:)

ok thanks:) will i find that on google??

Click on navigation(tool bar)and page down to tutorials.

You should try Young Nails. That brand is amazing.

every product has a ratio and a consistency, you really should try mastering a product (by practice) before slating it or wanting to move on to another, just because you have a consistency problem, doesn't mean it's the products fault, dare I say "it's more than likely you, not the product".

With a little practice you can make a nail out of almost any product.

i use opi and love it. but it is a product that you use with a slightly wetter ratio so if your worried about it being too "runny" as you might say then i'd suggest maybe something else? i love the product though and once you get used to it its fine, as with anything its proper training in THAT product which really teaches you. maybe order a trial kit, and if you like it then book on a conversion course, same with any brand you chose, a conversion course is definately the way to go xx

what nail training have you actually done? College? Private? Home Learn?

Seems a big investment to make if you don't do nails as a profession. Why not look at Star nails or something like that?

ive done gel and liquid powder course with carlton institute, was hoping to do it as a proffesion but as im not good ive lost my confidence in trying, today i enquired about a conversion coursewith CND and ezflow so ill probbook a one to one

hi, i use opi absoulute and its great at lasting, at first i used creative and didnt think i could be converted but now i cant live without it it feels a bit wet to use but you get used to it and its more easy to mold 10/10 xx:Grope:

why do you think you not good?

I don't think the new absolute is good for a newbie, its ratio can be... hard to get at first.
the previous absolute was perfect for it tho :|

BUT if you want to do it, book yourself a training to learn how to use it, I obviously love it and the possibilities it offers me.

but you can't go wrong with CND either. esp in the UK

I'm an esthetician and my old boss REALLY wanted me to do artificial nails for the clients. She taught me gel/acrylic, but after doing a few clients I still wasn't very confident in myself. I wasn't bad at them, just felt that I didnt have a natural passion for them and that would hinder my results.

I told my boss that I wasn't confortable doing gel/acrylics and was going to stick with what I am good at so I didn't lose any of her clients.

Always be honest with yourself! Some people are not good at everything, so instead of being OK at everything, be the BEST at the things that you do.

HTH :)

Honestly, as a student in school, I must say, the Absolute is hard to get the consistency (mix ratio) "right". I don't think it's good for newbies and it's the second line I've tried (used Beautiful Nails before that) I have since slated it and am moving on to Tammy Taylor.

I'm using it now ( the TT line) and it's easy to mix, so easy, in fact, that I got the mix ratio perfect after the first try and haven't had any issues since. I ended up going through most of my liquid in class with the Absolute and am barely using any liquid with the TT line
so there is a truly *huge* noticeable difference in the two lines.

Everything I've heard, however, leads me to want to try Young Nails as well.
