Hi beauty geeks,

I have recently invested in O.P.I gel Color after using the Aaxxium system for the past couple of years. I just wondered if anyone else is using it and what you think of it? Color choices? Happy with results etc

Xox

I really like it but do the training if you haven't already.

I like it too but a couple of the pinks stain the nails, including strawberry margarita, and some colours are not easy to apply like louvre me louvre me not and lady in black

I love Gel Color, I find it to be a bit more robust than the other gel polishes I tried, and the fact that they match the polishes is a great retail opp.

I think Cajun Shrimp, Lincoln Park After Dark and Russian Navy are must haves, and I think A Grape Fit, Suzu Says Feng Shui and Pink Flamenco are going to be popular over the next few months.

Def get the training though, I know a few people on here gave up with Gel Color due to issues with shrinking but I think all of us who have done the training found a slight tweak in our application sorted this right out X

love it, but i find that axxium is better and longer lasting for the french. i do find opi ink gelcolor is very shrinky though....

I love it too, have do admit that Russian Navy is a fave but am now being asked for Princesses Rule who I also love, and also good to match to the lacquer for toenails etc. Training is necessary though

It is great that you can match the gels to the polishes and that there are so many iconic shades. My fav is Russian Navy.
I have found that bubble bath changes colour, goes on quite pinky but in a couple of days it goes a bit more nude like.

When the rep did a demo on me she applied up the nail from the free edge and then down from the cuticle to the middle. Does anybody else do this? I found it very odd!

I love GelColor too, Defo do the training workshop though.

My trainer did the same method, over the free edge to the middle then cuticle up to middle. Maybe to help with free edge shrinkage, but what I do is paint all five fingers then before they go under the lamp touch up each free edge again and I do this for each coat.

I find most colours need 3 coats. Fave colours are Russian Navy, Miami Beet/Casino Royale, Pompeii Purple and just recently Every Month is Oktoberfest.

It takes some getting used to but when you crack it its fab.

A tip I learnt from another geek on here is to wipe a tiny bit of acetone on each nail before the bond aid.

I will try the acetone tip! And think I'll book in fit the training.
Does anybody find that the top coat starts curing on the brush? I've had to replace the brush several times as it gets hard and difficult to paint with!
