I spray tanned 2 clients today and both had oversprayed feet
I sprayed 2 on Tuesday with no problems and 2 on Wednesday, again no problems. I haven't adjusted my gun, i did the couch roll test and it seemed to be going on as normal. I don't know what happened!
I have 2 clients booked in tomorrow and am feeling a little apprehensive now!
Should i apply more moisturiser to the feet?
I'm worried it will happen again. I will have a play about with my gun tomorrow but i was wondering if there was something i could put over the feet to prevent the feet getting any spray and then maybe giving their feet a quick spray over at the end instead.

personally i apply barrier cream to the feet and spray them, but i am sure collin once said on here that tantrick dont they just let the oversprayfrom the body tan the feet, maybe give that a go.

The technique you adopt is very much a personal one and probably one that evolves simply through usage.
Feet are a bit of a bugger at times try without any barrier or moisturiser and when on the down stroke down the leg start to draw the gun back (keeping it horizontal of course when doing so) when you get to the shin area and try and be pulled away before you get to the ankle.

If you are continuing to over spray to this area with this technique then check your extraction as to much over spray may be falling on the feet...the positioning and or adjustment to extraction is critical.

If all this fails maybe try a light moisturiser if needs must but just be careful not to create a margin effect.

If you have managed to already turn out good feet with some customers you must be doing things correctly...maybe on the ones that did get to much over spray were simply a case of going to far down the leg before pulling away.
Don't let it get you down...keep trialing and adapting your technique to suite the volume of solution coming out of the gun and the rate of over spray extraction that's possibly causing the problem at times.

Thanks for the advice. I have a booth so the extractor is built in and it's a good one so that's not a problem.
Luckily my nephew was aound this morning and bless him, he let me spray his legs whilst playing around with the gun and i think i have got it right now. No overspray on his feet!
Will see how it goes with my client later.

Yey

I have the opposite, If I dont spray the feet then I get told they look white compared to the rest of them! maybe I spray lighter so no overspray falling on them or something but I actually spray the feet

Me too the tops are usually fine but if I didn't spray the sides of the foot or the back then the over spray doesn't get there and looks white xxx

I never spray the feet as enough gets on them when i spray the legs.
After testing on my nephew i thought the gun was alright. I had 2 clients that day and i couldn't even see the solution going on! I was getting fed up with the blinking gun. There is an air knob, a solution knob, a direction knob and another knob!
My husband came and played around it with it and was telling me all the technical jargon of what happens inside the gun when you do this or that.........why do men always do that?!!!!!!!
Well i did 4 spray tans today and the gun was perfect! One gloating husband!
Well he will just have to come and set it up every week after i take the gun apart to clean!

what a clever hubby, is he a rocket scientist? :green:

Well he wouldn't need to be a rocket scientist to fiddle about with a few knobs now would he! I would have done it myself but you know how men just take over. I was adjusting it when he came in and just took it off me-it's a gun so a man needs to do it
