hi, i qualified a year ago now and i havent had much chance to practise. i was wondering if any one had any tips on how to achieve perfect smile lines as mine arent bad (they have the right shape) but they never look like the pictures or seem deep enough.

please help:cry:

One thing I picked up on a tutorial by Gigi, when you're doing the smile line try and reflect the shape of the eponychium at the base o the nail. I haven't tried it yet but guess it helps you deepen the smile. Check out the tutorials on the site, they might help x

thanks, i tend to find it sets before i get a chance to shape it and when i do get a chance its always wonky and never even. im scared to do proper clients instead of friends in case they're not happy with my lines

:) Smile lines takes a lot of practice, if the white is drying to quickly then work a little wetter while you are practicing that will give you a bit more time, also check the tutorials on this site Gigi has put lots of tutorials on here and they are very easy to follow.:)

Hiya,
It's a little cheats way out, but it worked for me.

When you apply tips, file out the well into the deepest smileline you can get then smooth it out with sissors.

apply the tip to the natural nail fairly close to the nail edge..not too close.

blend the tip as normal, but the secret is leave a slight visible line and use it a a guide.

when you get to grips with the products, it will all fall into place

GODD LUCK
Jenx

there is a good video to watch on the CND.com website....someone may have posted it on here but not 100% sure...try doing a search. I thought it was a very good video.....i do love the tutorials as well.....but i do like to see things in the flesh...i 'get' it more, if you know what i mean.

Do you mean on salon geeks (I've read all the tutorials there) or the CND website which I haven't seen?

That was good to watch.., I think i know what part of my problem is... I am always wiping my brush after i put the bead on the nail plate...
My CND beads don't look that creamy... they look more ..hmmmm don't know just not like that...

That's a habit i've got into too, I'm having to make a real conscious effort all the time not to do it.

I think personally that I make the whole process alot harder than it probably should be by fiddling and trying to make it perfect 1st and all of the time  which when you only qualified in June is abit tough... It's those pesky CND ambassadors, they make it look soooo easy! Grrr xxx
